Lightbulb We need a roving cameraman on the Peak Tour any volounteers??

Due having a large turn out it would be nice someone take some fooage of the event, this could be done by going a head on the route at key locations plus this could be edited with my in car footage also this could be burn to DVD and could all have a copy .Anybody what to take this on email me

Having spoken to Paul about this - we have decided to do the cameraman bit ourselves, just means we won't be leading any of the groups

I will be heading out before the first group and will film you all at a "suitable" location (so be looking good guys n'girls ) and I will then tag onto the back of the last group. Paul will head out after the last group and, by way of a short cut, will also film you all at a suitable location.

If's there's a stop or two, we'll probably repeat this action so shoud make for a good video - might even have some outside media who want to film this (more news as it unfolds!! )

So get your names down

As with the past meets NBO2004 & Skeegy Runs I transfer all my footage onto dvd as a momento.

Again will bring along my camcorder and will gladly pass on any footage I take.

My footage will be a lot steadier due to the bracket I am ordering. Looks like theres going to be tons of filming on this one, we ought to get at least one camera car in each group.

Paul - did you get that CD I sent?

My mate Jay who did the filming etc on the last tour is sunning himself in Spain at the mo. I will interogate him when he returns about the software I gave to Paul.

I have done a fair few movies using movie maker but Jay always uses premier for importing from the camera and burning the cds / dvds. I usually get him to do those bits LOL.

Hope you guys aren't under the impression im some Spielberg.
Yes I know how to transfer footage via USB cable from my Camcorder to PC which dumps it there as VCD format (Mpeg).

From there I only burn this to CDR/DVD.

I have no editing skills as yet but am keen to learn. Will gladly help out were I can though

My last two ones from NBO04 & Skeegy runs were not editied I just transferred the hole footage onto disc. Not too bad for a newbie like me

I'm not too bad at putting some film of drives out together
Here are some examples:

peak tour
vale of edale with south yorkshire scoobys
me on track last year at curborough
sledgehammer scooby, my first "proper" film

Do I get the job?

I am going to go in the slow group again if I may, then I can film every one leaving and tag along on the back of the last group.

Some good footage there m8

Was wondering whether you or anyone else knows when I convert my footage from camcorder to mpeg format its quite large.

For example my NBO04 footage Meadowhall to The Valley was 30mins long and came out at 630Meg........is it possible to convert to avi format and at reasonable size????

Would like to host my examples but at that size would take forever to download.

tainton, I use pinacle studio, when you come to render your movie, you get a massive choice of formats and sizes. I've also hacked my dv camera so I can upload the edited film back to dv to watch on the big screen
I can get a 30 min film down to about 10mb, but the compression and size is crap. It's best to be ruthless with the editing process, and cut out all the rubbish, then cut some more , If its a long film, do what I did, just have a sample to download off the web, and offer to send people the full feature film on cd or dvd (or even video, which is where putting it back onto dv tape comes in handy!)

chris.
