hi richto.
yeah sorry mate.
this GB is closed.

speak to Max @ gruppeS-> sales@gruppeS.com

the reason we did the gb, is that normally the shipping is the killer when you order individually..

Depends if you can be arsed to use exhaust wrap. Coated is apparently not quite as good as wrapped, but its a lot less effort and easier to deal with, and its much better than standard....and of course you could always wrap it too for extra effect.

PowerStation say wrapping and coating isn't necessary, and can lead to cracking if the manifold temperature gets too high.

Do the performance gains outweigh that risk?

Well I have run unwrapped / uncoated for 3.5 Years without issue on my current Hayward / Scott equal length manifold.

However I understand it makes a measurable difference in power if you wrap, and of course it helps to keep engine bay temperatures down too.

Manifold temperature wont get too high unless you run too lean. At which point you have more to worry about than just the manifold...

Cool

I wrap. and always will.
imo- my car is modded far along enough to start to be concerned about temps .. includes EGT's..
also- why go to the effort and expense of power mods only to then deprive the full potential by not wrapping?
seems an abvious choice to moi

I asked Max for those that were interested in jetcoat- he recommends wrapping.
Although there was also another $150 to cough up and a two week wait for jetcoated headers- its on page 1 or 2 of this thread i think....

ordered now anyways
ask in drivetrain if you want further encouragement Tel

the upipe is flexi anyways on the V2, and GruppeS dont advise wrapping the flexi bit...

btw- what steve neglects to say- is that he's running quite a lot of boost!
but then Harvey etc (running HIGH power) never had that problem..

Im gonna wrap my up-pipe up to the flexi bit. and my entire headers.

Unhappy

*****UPDATE*****

Right. Bit of info that is very important.
On ordering, I was assured that ALL items were in stock.. however it now turns out that there is going to be a slight delay as another big order went through beofre ours... and they've left a gaping hole in the stock..
here you go, here is the email from Max that I got late last night-

"Hi Brad, Actually was just about to mail you regarding the order. We're short a few manifolds (3) and a lot of uppipes (8) for about 2 weeks. The STi injectors are also about 10 days out.
Please let me know so I can plan the shipping accordingly.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks
Max"

I was very clear and (amazingly) didn't lose my rag either on the phone to Max.
I said I wasn't happy.. as Im sure some of you aren't now.
Nowt I can do
Basically the only alternative to waiting is to cancel the order!!!
that would be daft due to the good prices.. only thing I can suggest is that we hang on... I wil ship all goods altogether- it just means it wont be quite as quick as we had all hoped.
(SteveBT- looks like your two week forecast was about right! )

I have put myself up as one of the people who will have to wait longer my manifold and upipe- we need two more people who dont need manifold's in a rush to volunteer to hang on...

Sd69- Nothing I can do about the injectors mate they dont hold stock..
Please hang on in there...

Hi Chrome,

I ordered the up-pipe/ down-pipe and headers.
My car only arrived in the country on Friday and will not be on the road for a good 2weeks. i will take the parts in the second delivery to allow people to get there's quicker.

I would not bother sending bits seperate, altogether in one delivery would be the best option. Drop me a line if this is OK.

All the best,

Chris

Chrome, I'm not in a rush either. I won't fit the headers/pipe until the racing season is over, about early October!
Hope this helps everyone.

Regards,

Mine won't be going for ages yet so I'm quite happy to wait as well if required.
