Great pictures. Done some of those roads at night on a road rally, sorts the men from the boys 
I also remember years ago being a passenger in my mates car when he had to make a hill start on one of the steepest parts of Hardknott Pass (some idiot coming down didn't give way). His Astra 1.3 couldn't get moving again on the 1 in 4 with 4 up. The clutch started smoking so we had to get out and give him a push start

went up there last year for the weekend with the wife, took the wagon out for a good run and ended up racing this s2000 through some twistes...ended up smashing my alloy when i landed hard(from what i could see) was a straight road! on closer inspection the road fell away about 3 foot, was very scary but BIG fun
