Wow

Thanks guys

dba

Tom McRae had never really been considered mate as I always felt he was a wee bit on the dark side but will go and listen to the album again as seem to remember you cut her hair and the boy with the bubblegum being tracks that tickled my fancy....

Do you know if his more recent album as good as the one that I've got.... that seems to just be called Tom MCrae ?

IanWatson

Father and Son by Cat Stevens had been forgotten mate but nicley reminded

Shug

Del Amitri - Nothing ever Happens- capo 3rd fret seems to sound better !! and driving with the brakes on already being played around with ...

Some Dude

Listening to the Chilli's link just now mate... and liking it

UB

Thanks for taking the time to post the chords / lyrics, ... appreciated ... had forgotten all about Come up and see me..that'll get them singing

GaryCat
Will look into more ideas for Radiohead stuff... as I guess I can only see the more obvious ones that I reckon can be done acoustically

Just got Fake Plastic Trees sorted and thoroughly enjoying it although thank **** I've stopped smoking as some of it's just about out of my range

Heaps of thanks to all who have posted something up... it's going to take me ages to look at all the tab and download the relvant tracks but some truly brilliant reminders of alot of stuff that I'd totally forgotten about and some great new ideas .......

Good old scoobynet

and here was me thinking about looking on guitar forums

Hmmmm....It's a sad day when the best sing along you get tends to be later on with Sail Away ... personally quite 'enjoy' playing the other side and last boat to America but I'm getting help to get over it

I'm hugely with dba on Nick Drake - been obssesed with his music for a few years - although some of the guitar stuff is a little tricky.

Day is Done is nice and easy (relatively) and (rare for Nick Drake) is actually in standard tuning!

SomeDude - you've got a good memory there! Those days are long gone - no Scooby (Pug GTi instead), no more IT recruitment (www.customyachtconsultants.com is my baby now) - hope all is well with you matey.

Oh - one that EVERY guitar player should learn as soon as A D and E are learned is Rodney Carrington's Dear ***** (although the recording below is in G C D)

Jimmy Buffet hasn't been mentioned yet either - maybe I spend to much time with Yanks/in US but I love his stuff.

Appreciated

Agreed mate...but I still struggle with it due to Marc Almond's involvement and the mention of 'Pink Flamingo's' in it

Still a great song though

Greenday - time of your life is a brilliant track tho is mostly g,c,d!

some rock classics
Mr Big - Wants to be with you
extreme - more than words
Def lepoard - 2 steps behind
Hotel Califonia has a brilliant 2 guitar solo

Daughter by pearl jam

All along the watchtower - imho would sound good

what about the Stereophonics?

Starsailor - secret smile

Loads of stuff sounds good acoustic why not check out the mtv acoustic cds from a few of the bands you like? some of the strangest songs sound great acoustic!

However..... I regretably sold the 12 string and it just doesn't sound so good now mate

Got both the MTV Unplugged CD's and agree that a few are pretty

Have a few other acoustic compilations and you sure can get some great ideas from them but I keep accidentally forgetting to skip Leonard Cohen's Lover Lover lover lover come back to me and always want to physically hurt Jamie Cullem when I hear his version of High & Dry

Are you sure that Starsailor sung Secret Smile as I thought it was Semisonic

Have tried a few Starsailor ones and their stuff is pretty good ... if only they would get a different vocalist I get a bit tired of his screaching after about 1 track

On a more serious note........Cheers for all the ideas 106, appreciated
