What is the damage like on the other vehicle?? That is likely to be the bigger issue.

Yes, probably. but the summons is for "failure to report Incident" so it's because i didn't tell the police - but when the damage is so minimal it's hardly surprising.

I'm going to show judge those pics and say "that is what I failed to report..."

Are the only photo's you have digital? I seem to remember digital photo's arent admissible because they can easily be adjusted. Use a normal camera to take the photos and you'll be able to use them to back you up.

As I say - depends on the other vehicle. I got rear ended several years back. Hardly a scuff on my bumper, the Rover was a wreck.

The courts won't be interested in the damage to your car, they will be interested if there is damage to the other vehicle though if the owner is claiming you didn't stop and exchange details.

the other driver isn't claiming anything - it's police sending me to court.

Then I suspect the level of damage will be irrelevant. It is the fact that you had an accident and didn't report it. But as has been covered before, as long as you exchanged details with the other vehicle and or they have not raised a complaint for you not doing so then it really isn't any business of the Police at all.
