The circumstantial evidence here has to be compelling. NACRO's claim this picture was taken today is IMO, fake.

frankly, i disagree. the date could have been reset at any time/date in the past, and carried on counting from there. to my mind, the evidence that it wasn't taken today is no more compelling than the evidence that it was taken today. the only thing that is fairly obvious, as carl pointed out, is that it wasn't taken at 01:38.

 

In which case the camera would need to be at least 3 years old and only had the date set once - incorrectly.

Can't see a flash git like NACRO owning a 3 year old camera.

The balance of probability (in that case) still points to this picture being as old as it claims to be.

No, I'm saying that this is the time that was set by the user. They simply did not realise (like many consumers) that they were setting a 24 hour clock. Thus, the date and time are 'correct' and the lighting is accurate. Therefore, the EXIF data is sound evidence of when the picture was *really* taken.

I disagree. I played with a prototype SonyEricsson K700 mobile (it's not even released yet) yesterday. When it first started up it defaulted to a date of 01/01/2000. Surely it's possible that NACRO has a 17-month old camera that's done the same, and the photo was taken at a time of day 1 hour and 38 minutes after the time of day he first turned it on?

Of course, it does suggest he's too stoopid to set it up properly

1) The "scoop" was of a type never used on a Scoob
2) The paint colour is one never used by Subaru
3) The armcos are of a type never deployed at Pau
4) The photo was taken in the morning/evening/2001/etc.

You guys analysing the picture are missing the point. He could be sitting on a super yacht in Monaco for all the difference it would make. The point is that he is burdened with a pathalogical need to compare himself to other people in order to feel good about himself. He is not happy with his own status and needs people to feel jealous in order for him to value what he has got.
