Looks like a beautiful example Bain, is it still available? I may be looking to buy a scooby in a couple of weeks. I was looking at UK STis as I'm a little weary of imports, what kind of insurance premium over a standard UK Sti do they attract and are the runing costs significantly higher than a standard UK model?

Test drive a UK then test drive a JAP. And you won't have to think very hard.
Just sold my STI7, ps nice motor Bain and goodluck with the sale.
I test drove UKs, and even with PPP were dissapointed.
My JAP STI run in optimax, felt much quicker than UK, and as Bain sais you get more equipement for a cheaper price, insurance is no longer more expensive, and its will actually cost you more for a UK with PPP(Classified as modified to insurance company), than A JAP these days. SERIOUSLY!!
And Servicing is cheaper and can be sure its been done by a proper mechanic rather than some 17 year old trainee, working for a main dealer.
All in all a JAP is a much better deal IMHO. Just be sure to buy a good one (For the extra you save pay for a full monty inspection), and Bain's looks like it is, also if warranty is your beef! then buy a private warranty which will be much better than one a dealer will give you. And still have change!.

I think that you have to be persistent when selling a specialized car that is group 20 insurance. There will be a buyer out there, I am in no rush, hence i do not have to let it go for silly money. May be about to but a 1.5 td corsa for running to work. So keeping it may be an option. Also I could join corsa a BBS LOL

Sounds like the same dilema as me these STi 7's are so cheap there very tempting but my heart is on an R34. However, I am thinking is an R34 worth twice the price of one of these...... and my head(sense) tells me a different story
