Dave_a, can you send a cd of all the pictures you took to madscientist? He is doing a DVD of the day, and all pictures from everyone at the end would be cool.

I'll only come if I can find someone slower than me!

Will ask woman up the road who rides one of those battery go-karts to the shops. No, she was quicker than me also

Bags first ride in the Spec-C!!

I know, I'll bring the wife and kids! Is there an age limit on track andy?

Update on Spec C,

went to look at one this morn in Brum, It was the tatiest 2year old car I have ever seen I think its life had been track days only, the gearbox sounded like a bag of spanners LOL.

lol.

I'm looking at getting my front discs and pads sorted + 60k service before the next outing if it happens in october (either date suits me, I've already pencilled in the days off at work) - and I will then do some unofficial participation so to speak, and I would expect to be slower than you Dai, so no excuses

Anyone recommend decent discs+pads for a classic? I see scoobyclinic do some pads and discs (cross-drilled) for £250 fitted. Anyone got any ideas on better/cheaper solution? I'd rather pay someone to do the job right than let my incompetent hands near the thing before anyone suggest DIY!!

Shame the spec C turned out crap Andy, you'd think with the amount of money they are they'd be looked after and cared for

dave, I have ebc brakes and pads all round, £650 all in from prosport, although may be cheaper now.
took a while to bed in, and a trackday wouldn't be the best way to do it , but excellent stopping power. (my brakes didnt smoke once!)
You can order them off the net at ebc.com, fit em yourself, or get a garage to do it.
good luck,
chris.

Dave check out ebay. There has been ECB Redstuff pads and discs for £290 buy it now. Dead easy to fit yourself, even supertouring changed his pads, it's only a couple of bolts and clips.
Could you email me that picture again as I've not recieved your email?
Cheers

Dai, to change the discs you don't have to do anything different to changing the pads. Once you have undone the calipers the discs will pull off. What pads and discs are you going for supergran?

As for changing disks, It is not as simple as you make out. Pads are replaced by removing a couple of pins and extracting pads through rear of calliper. Disk Change mean removal of calliper alltogether - two 14mm bolts apparantly.

Thumbs up

Yes its just two bolts to get the calliper off then the disc pulls off, I normally undo the calliper anyway as it makes it easy to change the pads. If I can do discs and pads anyone can!!
