Love the paper clips bit PMSL gutted for you mate, can you get nitrous to go up your ar$e so you can run again if they come back the Ba$tards!!!!!!!!!!

Real sorry to hear it mate. Sounds like they were after a getaway car for a bank job. They don't need to be discreet either as cops dont give a $hit and wont bother chasing em if they have a high performance car.

I got held up at gun-point by a gang in a west midlands city centre on the same road as the main police station! Really wasn't even worth reporting it to the police station.

Also I've got a friend from manchester who had his front door kicked in by a masked gang demanding keys. He managed to fight them off although took a few cuts in the process. Sold the car straight after. This was a couple of yrs ago.

Cant rely on the cops...just take measures to protect yourself and family.

No.1

Not long ago, a few hundred yards from where I live now in a relatively quiet backwater, unlike Manchester or London where I've both lived and worked, a work colleague parked his car outside a local newsagents at 7.30 a.m. to buy a paper. As he did so, someone grabbed him, placed a large blade at his throat and demanded his car keys.

Guess what car he had.... WRONG.... it was a beat up old Escort worth all of 50p! Later that same day the car was used in a series of robberies.

This will really cheer you up ........ the criminals were later apprehended. That makes a refreshing change.

No.2

A close neighbour's son took much pride in caring for his old but immaculate MG Maestro 1600.... now a rare car with the webber carbs, unlike the later 2 litre versions. Waiting at lights, gang got in and made him drive to cash machine and withdraw money. Then drove off with his car after beating him up. His crime... wrong place, wrong time! Poor chap.

So, it's NOT simply high performance cars these types are after .... it could be any car you chose to own. Simply a question of being in the wrong place at wrong time.

Really worrying thing is, IT WILL NOT GET ANY BETTER. Be delighted if I'm proved wrong, but, dont hold your breath.

5 masked men?? And you went outside to tackle them? Fair play mate.
Bloody hell mate you must have amazing ***** tucked away. So sorry to hear your story, just goes to show we must all be on our guard.

Dont let the scum win.You work hard to enjoy these things ,I live near Manchester and several local stories of armed highjacks on scoobs but you cant give in to them.I do look around in morning when getting car out of garage ,and also careful where i park it,but my wife drives it more than me and I just tell her to be careful,and throw the keys away if someone threatens her for them.RB5 by the way.
Did get woken by the police one night asking where my car was.Opened the garage with a lump in my throat,the car was still there.Someone had been driving round Salford with the police in pursuit with my personal plate on .
Anyway,enjoy what you work for you only live once!!!!!!!!Keep safe.

Ring the police and tell them that masked men have attacked you and are about to escape in your Scoobie - you 'think' you saw a shotgun and pistols.

Should do it quite fast! Just saying your car is being nicked is useless - they need to think a firearm is involved .............. even better if you say you heard a bang!!

Where in Manchester did this happen? I am in Cheetham Hill - not sure if this is a bad thing or a good thing as far as scoob ownership goes

phone the police - thats what I did, 4/5 people behind the house trying to get in through the kitchen window, my Brother switched the light on and they did a runner

when the police arrived they said it was Kids trying to scare us...what a joke

that night the post office 1/2 mile down the road was ram raided 1 week later a EVO7 was stole from the garage 3 mile down the road same time and aproach to what they were doing to my Kitchen window


the police really do need looking into, I asked him did he not think they could be after the car pointing to the modded scoob on the drive and he replyed "why, what is it I don't know much about cars, its got a big spoiler though"

what do you say to a cooper when he comes out with garbage like this? I wonder if it was ever looked in to, that I reported a attempted break in and the copper never even drove round, then 1 or 2 hours later the post office was raided ( this is a small estate which has never had problems before)

I wonder if the degree students go in to the traffic cops these days, as the 2 traffic cops that are always waiting for me as I join the dual track seem to know what a subaru is .. better look next week guys
