Poll : Worst car for "trying it on"
how do you reconcile a BMW owner who also drives a Subaru?
Perhaps they are only to55ers when in the beemer? or perhaps it should be the drivers who you should be polling for and not the car make ?
I have both (yes its a 3 series) so I'm a decent bloke at weekends and an **** whenever else you meet me.As its only a tuesday i'll be driving up the chuff of the next subaru I see.

novas and them clios. all the little rats have them because renault offer free insurance when u buy one! they are every where. 1.2 hit squad
I'm over here in Ireland and the boy racers weapon of choice is the Starlet GT Turbo, as they are not listed as turbo on the log book (japanese imports) and all the boy racers just insure them as standard 1.3 starlets.
Constantly up for a race so they are, and quick enough for a biscuit tin I suppose, but I get more joy of giving them a quick blast and then watch them steam off with big puffs of blue smoke from their exhausts and through the nearest police speed check!!!

Vectra's have to be the worst, i get it all the time with them, its so sad
or 50 odd year olds in CLK's they seem to think they own the road, one pulled up at the lights at the side of me the other day so he could try n get passed me before the road goes back into one, and when the road did go back into a single lane i looked in my mirror to see him shouting and screaming behind the wheel giving all sorts of hand gestures!! what a *** .

The fool this evening in a clapped out cavalier complete with space saver front wheel and max power stickers trying so hard to try and lose me on the twisties that he nearly spun off into a ditch.

Yeah, bug problem. Get all sorts of people in Lambos, Ferraris, Porsche's TVRs etc, who just don't read scoobynet enough to know that nothing on the road can beat a Scoob.
Never mind, I'll beat 'em in the twisties when it's wet, etc.
Unsuprisingly, there are stupid people in all kinds of car, and decent people in all kinds too (with the possible exception of the 3 series
)
Serious vote for always trying it on with anyone in any car - all VW TDi's, not just the passats. Have encountered a few who still try it on with cars that will happily slaughter a tek'd scoob.

Round my way there are tons of corsas and saxos and novas, all kitted out with the most over the top bodykit you will ever see and possibly the largest exhausts too. I voted for corsa though as there are possibly more of those and they probably the worst for trying to race you too.
Diesels .... LOL
A lot of Diesel car drivers seem to have a problem.
They have bought something that gives good MPG, now all they need to do is prove to themselves that they are not missing out on performance so they drive like tw@t$

On topic, only one at the lights; A Vauxhall Vectra. Attempted goading into a race; Citroen Saxo full of chavs. On the motorway; someone who hated being gently overtaken and responded by over the top re-overtaking in his RS6 Avant. Perhaps he felt I had reduced the size of his widgy.
The worst offenders on the road, in my experience, are white van drivers who have deliberately half-blocked off lanes of dual carriageways because they know you are going to want to get past.

AMG Merc drivers thinking they've got something quick, especially SL55s which couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding

Yes you are, that's the point, all that torque doesn't in any way make up for the fact that your car takes well over 20 seconds to 100mph and would be destroyed over any increment by even a standard lardy bugeye WRX. Now shut up and count your fuel economy/tax savings, you are exactly the type of person who this thread is aimed at.

Gotta be Passat drivers with the red I in the badge. They seem to have a complex about not having the red D to go with it.
Makes me a tempting target in my "SDI" Octavia
When will they learn?
Me, I drive a diesel and, yes, it is slow

Loads of Diesels now are quoted at 130 - 150 bhp.
They are'nt bad - FOR A DIESEL.
When we see Schumacker out on a Sunday in his Ferrari F1 TDi, we'll know Diesels are worthy performers .... LOL
Until then you cannot compare them to high performance turbo petrols.

You'll find that in the 'real world' diesels are the fastest cars on the road- well at least according to some deluded people on here anyway. Usually the ones who've left the world of fairly quick cars behind and are now forced into diesels for tax purposes.
As you say the VAG engines are particularly good as are BMW diesels, the problem is that even with a remap they really aren't all that quick, particularly on a sprint like the traffic light GP or away from a toll booth. Nice in gear performance on the motorway though- as if that counts for anything
