So I assume you have let all the other spectators know this.. & have vented your anger in a similar childish way??..

Ok pencil dick answer these for me..

No Spectators
So I assume you have let all the other spectators know this.. & have vented your anger in a similar childish way??..

What makes you think I would enter in a 4x4 turbo??

Just Out of interest if 4x4 turbos are not allowed why was there an evo & various wrx's there??.

Ok & you can remember how loud my car was??, you talk $hit, you could here the rally cars a mile off!

Perhaps get your eyes tested, there was loads of spectators (description: People standing watching the event)

Never heard of any motor event where there are no spectators

[QUOTE=Road Rally]
I doubt you have a licence, but our event excludes 4x4 turbos (that's another Road Rallying rule you see) so I don't think you will be.

Hi Everyone.

I'm another of the Road Rallying fraternity, and I've been involved in competing and organising these types of events for over ten years.

Since the rally on Saturday there have been many complaints made by competitors about anti-social driving and behaviour from non competing traffic. This sort of nuisance behaviour is a massive problem within this sport, and the main reason we choose not to give these events a high profile within the motoring community.

I am reliably informed that behaviour on Saturday night was unusually bad, and many people involved in the sport (such as [i]Road Rally[i/] and SimonC, both of whom I know personally) have been scratching their heads to discover where this sudden influx of people came from. It affected the event to a considerable degree, will have undoubtedly caused many PR problems which people in the organising club will now have to chase around and try and sort out, and will no doubt lead to more future problems, eg roads not being available next year due to complaints from residents etc.

Now it may well be that all the ScoobyNet members are indeed model citizens and were only there co-incidentally, but when a thread appears on a forum like this bragging "it was mental" and joking about driving across people's gardens etc, well just what are we supposed to think? This is a serious and direct threat to our sport!

Ok, tempers a little frayed etc. Where to go from here?

Well, anyone out there who is genuinely intrigued by the sport and wants to get involved, please pm any of the motor club people who have contributed to this thread. It's not about madcap driving, but about building teamwork between driver and navigator to get round an intricate route adhering to a carefully set time schedule, and without upsetting the natives!

If you think this might be for you, let us know where you are and we'll put you in touch with a local club. It's a great sport and it is always on the lookout for new blood. If you really want to see the sport close up come and marshal, and you'll see far more than by trying to follow people's lights.

If you want to compete then ditto, but bear in mind you don't really need a 300bhp Scooby to be competitive. It's not really about all that - plenty of events have been won by well driven and navigated low powered cars. It's not how big it is, it's what you do with it... Indeed, anti-social driving (possibly mainly by spectators) seems to be is leading the sport ever closer to banning "exotic" machinery from taking part (as mentioned by RR), which would be a great shame.

So that's two good ways forward. If anyone on here was genuinely trying to unobtrusively enjoy the evening's entertainment and wants to get more properly involved then I apologise on behalf of the rally fraternity for any misunderstanding that has led to offence being taken.

But if you are just out for a thrash and think trying to hassle rally cars and wind up the natives is a bit of fun, then please stay at home! Our sport has a heritage as long as motoring itself, and it would be a great shame if it were killed off by the actions of a few irresponsible people.

Jamo,

Still gonna look for something else, seems a shame to abuse it tbh!

Forgot your car was na!, just seen the other thread about VK rally

Don't forget we have a meet up this way on the 18th if you fancy it??

However there are some rules:-

Everyone must come with a 14yo slapper with a Happy meal...
All cars must be checked prior to been used on a public road..
Pea shooter exhausts only, No Std STi equipment allowed..
& Certainly no spectators or people appearing to enjoy themselves..

Nova GTE (or 205Gti) is just about the perfect tool for the job, but what you really need is a good navigator!

If you are serious, get along to a club night and talk to a few experienced competitors...

Fair comment Blackstuff,

With regards the Influx, I would'nt call an impreza & forrester parked up with everyone else a nusiance..

I'm sure most competitors are regular spectators at these events, what angers me is the fact a couple assume that I/Jamo etc were responsible for the trouble...

Really was no need for these people to blow their tops at the wrong people..

all the above comments were made by me, I can conform I was joking about the gardens as is stated in my thread! it was mental, i ****e myself on that first road with the wash, i had to stop for 5 mins. it was a loose comment and meant as fun.

I really enjoyed the whole event, I didnt go there to cause trouble, just to watch and follow and enjoy, thats exactly what we all did.

and i really am considering joining the club, as is sti555, p555 cms, ses, woody and a few others!

I would prefer to use a smaller powered car, more fun, cheaper than a scoob, I understand it's not WRC! It's all about fun

I wasn't pointing the finger, I was trying to explain how it looked "from the inside".

Event gets loads of hassle (and I mean LOADS) with nutters chasing competitors, nearly mowing down marshals, blasting past the locals, getting stuck on the route so the rally cars couldn't get through etc.

Then a post appears on here talking about spectating.

2 + 2 = 5 perhaps!

As I said earlier, if you are keen PLEASE get in touch.

Tonight I've had a lady on the phone about a rally passing her house, I have to explain to her that we are all licenced, the cars have been checked for noise and roadwothiness, that our route is submitted to the police, that we are responsible people who want to use these roads again maybe in the future, blah blah blah.

So to have unchecked cars CHASING a rally just causes headaches.

As I have said if you want enter, providing you have a car, licence, club cards, crew, maps, sumpguard, ability, kwells, insurance etc etc then I'll gladly take 59 quid off you. You will be seeded dead last and then perhaps some clowns will follow you and maybe demolish a wall or two (that you can pay for) or maybe they will run into the back of you as you stop to collect a Code Board or Time Control.

But seeing as I've told you spectators are not welcome and you still insist on saying you want to chase rallies I seriously doubt you have the right attitude to compete.

Each event has it's own sets of rules, some allow 4x4 turbos some don't. The Pendle event doesn't allow such type of cars as they tend to attract ********* and baseball cap wearing Neds.

But if you are serious, then prove me wrong, and go for it. Somehow I doubt I am.

For your local club http://www.msauk.org/ in particular the Go Motorsport section and MSA Directories Club Directory.

Oh and you are still not welcome to chase on any future road rally, just in case I hadn't made that clear enough for you.

i was trying to think of something suitably humiliating to call you, however the fact that you need to actually make yourself look as stupid and sound just as bad, is enough for me! your ridiculous. I think you said in your last post erm what was it oh yeah!

GROW UP!!

Who the hell are these freaks coming on here and laying into soobynetters like they own the roads?

Some of the comments,

'would you drive past a house at 3am in the morning?'

Errr.. isnt that allowed anymore? is there a law against it?

'You are not welcome'

Does anyone need permission to be on public roads at whatever time of the day or night they desire?

Im like at these people, get the **** off your high horses and get a bloody grip, this may come as a shock but, you DO NOT OWN THE PUBLIC ROADS DO U?

j4mou are you dyslexic or just a **** speller? Oh and thanks for proving my point perfectly.

Why can't you get it into your thick skulls, following rallies is bad news for the sport, for the car you are following, the residents en route.

Blackstuff is just trying to mediate, but I have spoken to dreamers like you lot before and you're not worth the bother trying to educate as you have no intention of taking up the sport, you're much happier wrecking it for others rather than being constructive.

Your total inability to acknowledge that chasing rally cars is a bad thing to do proves this beyond all doubt.

I represent every road rally organiser (they are not Tours or Cruises) as they all to a man loath ******** spectators. As they never bring anything to an event just cause hassle for the genuine enthusiasts.

Oh and have you had a look at the MSA website, found your nearest motorclub? Thought not, you'd rather argue the toss about how you are fine to wreck other peoples planning and hard work by selfishly chasing events.

Road Rally,

I can see your angry nut FOR F_UCKS SAKE we did not chase any rally??

IMO your a complete Pr1ck, you can stop pm me too..

Like the way your calling all 4x4 turbo owners 'neds' ............wtf is a 'ned'

Blackstuff made his point & expressed his concerns in a polite manner, perhaps you should take a leaf out of his book??.

Simple you have accused & upset a number of people on here with no evidence with your comments, I hope for your sake I never come face to face with you.

If you talk to people like a winnet stuck to your **** your gonna need to expect some $hit tbh.... what angers me is the stuff your coming out with.

Were you at the same event as me??
