No worries Stephen. Pity you couldn't make it along for a spot of lunch.

Mark's car sounds great and is plenty quick with his remap. He's not helping me save money

Well, test drove a MY04 STI PPP today and I was impressed. Feels a lot more solid than my classic (you could argue it should given the excess weight) and the engine felt like it wanted (and liked) loads of revs.

Throttle response was great and no real complaints about lag, but I guess the 6-speed box has something to do with that

Didn't feel as sure-footed as my RB5 through the bends, but I was confident enough to give it some stick with Phil the Salesman in the passenger seat. If only he'd let me out on my own

All-in-all a really nice upgrade from my present classic, but it certainly didn't rock my world as much as I'd hoped.

Trade-in on my car was a bit disappointing, although I pretty sure it's to be expected these days. Think I'll have a nosey around a few more garages to compare deals before I make a decision one way or the other.

There's always the Darkside, but I don't think I could live with (or want to afford) the higher running costs.

Stefan
