Cheers Andrew. I have a phase two set in Glass filled Nylon 66. Now I want a set for phase one and D.W. was originally going to make them but I guess he is under pressure so I am looking for a better material than what i used last time.

I used 4mm phenolic board (Tufnol) and it was relatively easy. With only 4mm to cut I chain drilled the profiles up and cleaned quickly with drum sander.

Router template is the way to do it as David Wallis does.

kevlar and high temperature epoxy would be fine.
just a question: if you drop the manifold temperature, you increase head temperature.
necessarily.
is it really better?

Not sure you would notice a great difference in head temperature. The inlet manifold surface area that touches the head is pretty small and most of the head heat is trasfered to the surrounding air anyway. Personally i don't see it as a problem.... the benefits far out way the negatives.

it' s just the energy saving
if the calories don't guet out from head to manifolds, they rest in the head.
what is better?
i have 'nt the answer

I think you will find the head and engine (both of which are actively cooled) has a much larger thermal mass than the manifold and therefore the amount of heat energy remaining in it will cause a fairly small (in comparison to the inlet manifolds drop in temp) temperature rise.

BTTT i was thinking of doing this in the next few weeks when i swap my manifolds over, has anyone got any proof that this actually works and there's a noticeable benefit? and what did we decide was the best material?

Interesting as I had been looking at routers to do this and some suitable material.

I thought Pavlo (Paul) made them?
Bet Carl can too!

If you are 'cnc' machining your caliper mounts then the inlet spacers in tufnol should be easy.
You sure they are worth it as hasn't JB or D Wallis had trouble recently?
