Not me. Haven't even been out on that Copello yet, since I couldn't get the day off last time it was windy, and I broke the end off the boom anyway....

However, I've got the day off tomorrow, and the forecast looks quite reasonable for once Still need a new boom though. It's broken once, and although I can get away with it on the smaller sails, I'm sure it'll snap further down as well, being carbon (I bought it 2nd hand btw... I'm not that rich)

And yes I have changed my user name Not quite sure why really. Went to log in, and it didn't work.... But there we go. One of life's little mysteries
Newbie again eh. I was nearly at 1000 then as well

Bloody good day on Friday up here for once 30-40 knots, so I picked the right day off, and was out all day. Took the Copello out for a spin on a 5.5 race sail, and cracked 38 mph. Seems ok for a first attempt anyway Then swapped to a 4.5 and the freestyle board, and pulled off my second ever ***** Skipper... Quite a reasonable one anyway. I fell off right at the end, but the board was planing backwards, and I was still on it, so good enough I reckoned

Iwindsurf is mainly for oop north - mostly west kirby in fact, although there's the odd one from further afield. I very rarely post on there tbh - just look at it every so often.

What boom is that anyway? Not an ART one is it?

Just got back from a couple of days in France. Cap D'agde, Couldn't get out unfortunatly as not as good as my mates (all instructors) but they came in saying its the best they had for a long time. Good cross to cross on wind and it was blowing dogs off lamposts! Most of the locals were on boards below 75l and sails ranged from 3.9!!-4.5. Only problem was there was so many people out there and mix of kites and windsurfers, very crowded. There were a few strange looks as my mate rigged a 5m - unfortunatley it was the smallest we had with us!

Where's that anyway? Looks popular as well South coast I'm thinking? About as far as it gets away from here

Dunno about that though - Guy I know up here clocked 36 knots on a Starboard Acid. He's kinda good though, and came 3rd at the Weymouth speed event on one of the days... I'll get faster than that hopefully. Just need more wind, and in the right direction. and a bloody big weight jacket

Speed canals eh I like the sound of that. Where abouts are you?

South coast of France unfortunately!! It was about half an hour from Montpellier (sp?) Cap d'agde - well worth a trip as it was only 32 quid return to Montpellier including taxes with Ryan Air. A few sponsored peeps about that day plus some very good sailors, lots of back, front and attempted double loops!!!

Saintes Maries de la Mer is where the famous speed canal is i think but there may also be one in Leucate.

That's slightly far away to go for the day Looks good though

Anyone been out? No wind here, and it's about 1.5 degrees, so I'll order my suit to go under the wetsuit, and start waiting. More tempting to stay inside tbh, but I'll go out if it picks up

Sounds like northerly up here. Not that I can go, as I'm away Anyway, it'll be bloody freezing, and I only ordered the suit today

It's salt water in West K - It is a lake, but it's overfilled by the high tides, so the water is fairly regularly changed, meaning none of that scummy green algae which they get in Crosby, just up the road It'll probably still freeze though ...

Always fancied an ice yacht http://www.idniyra.org/images/jrusse...jr%20053_b.jpg
If you thought windsurfing was fast, this is just ridiculous... Sounds good to me

Very good That's something I haven't ever pulled off I can do them in very light winds though - just not planing ones, as they take a bit of mental preperation just to consider 'em

Not that I've been out in the last month or so, as it's been flat calm..... Probably because I bought a 0.5mm undersuit, all win'd been cancelled for the forseeable future

My mate is an instructor at Datchett he was out there as well and said pretty much the same but apparantly the Uzo was good!

Scotty? He was the Ouzo man.. though Paul & Marcus both hit their fair share...

Mental preparation... oh yeah. Just reached the point where I thought "me and my big mouth.. **** it, this is going to hurt." After 18 months of psyching up, I *still* didn't think I'd go for it - something just snapped. Was completely expecting to finish up in hospital.

Not Kamikaze - all upwind jumping out there. Did it on port out of the top corner of baby bay, heading for the reef - cream out of baby bay bearing off, - lift it off the back of a bit of chop... there's a short section of chop between the head and the reef. Big audience, and Mr Bubble himself instructing.

If you know Marcus, ask him about his attempt

Lol yeah in fact he was with me and some other mates when I took those photos I posted from France.

Going skiing with him over new years so hopefully he will have to swap Ouzo for toffee vodka!

Sounds interesting I've not Kited before - only windsurfed, but I'm always looking for ideas......

Anyone been out recently? Not me anyway. Not since the last year in fact I just started a new job, which kinda limits the amount of time I can get out on the water, but I'm sure things'll improve. There's no wind over here anyway
