Standard vs Eibach Ride Height
#31
I would expect that geometry check and adjustment after doing something as major as unbolting and changing a major part of the suspension would be absolutely necessary, unless of course you want absolute variation on every corner of the car, accelerated tyre wear and an unsafe car that might have much greater repercussions for its occupants and other road users. Spax are pants, Eibach are genuinely "different" to every other mainstream spring.
BTW, RS Turbo and Spax - VERY BOY RACER EH?

Right then. After a lot of e-mails and phone calls I have got what seems to be the definitive answer from Eibach. After fitting their springs the distances between wheel centres and the wheel arch lips should be 360mm front and 345mm rear +/- 5mm tolerance. My car has settled down at 355mm front which is only a drop of 15mm but is within tolerance and is still 345mm at the rear which is exactly what it was before fitting the Eibach's and is spot on the target height (according to Eibach). How these springs can be advertised and sold as lowering a car between 25 and 30mm is beyond me. I have no quibble with their performance but I am disappointed with the resulting ride height. Also, be aware that if you e-mail Eibach from their web site you end up corresponding with a guy in the States! It took me a while to realise that and it's much better (obviously) to phone them at their UK number. I hope that this will clarify the situation for anybody else who wants to fit Eibach springs and expects to get a lower ride height all round.

Gents sorry about this as I haven't read the whole thread.
I have the Tein springs fitted and my experience is this:
1. They make the car look cool.
2. They are far to stiff, I could tell you which side of a 5p I have just run over.
3. Most important is that for track work and serious driving they aren't v good. At Abingdon I was having to back off on the fast corners because they were rubbing. On quick UK Roads they have bottomed out on me more than once. You must upgrade your struts with the Teins. Mine were fine but IMHO the Tein springs weren't designed with UK roads in mind. They may go well with the new Bilstein struts though
I am having Eibachs fitted before Brands so I'll let you know the outcome of the Tein Vs Eibach scenario.
