HYBRID FMIC FITTING
RRE, I didn't get any more lag on my TD04 when I fitted this kit, (surprisingly), but my FE TD05 does boost late (and I mean late according to AndyF, not in comparison to the 04 - which its obviously later than)...
Having said that, my cold air scoop is now getting me 1bar at ~3100rpm in top...

Has anyone tried to fit a temp sensor to the intercooler pipework just before the throttle body. I have to fit a 1/8 npt boss, should I drill and tap (is it too thin) or do I need to weld a nut or something to it.
and does anyone know what material it is made of.
Cheers

That pipe is thinwall alloy, I have a thermocouple (1.5mm s/s probe) pushed inder the silicone hose at the throttle body.
I need to find some way of fitting a water injection nozzle but I fear the alloy pipework is too thin to take a thread.

Just for info, rather than cut the vertical return pipe (cos getting it off would be a right pain!), I cut the end of the horizontal return pipe (at the front of the engine bay). This has allowed it to sit lower in the engine bay, so it is now below the level of the engine filler cap - Note that I cut it at an angle, to match the face of the vertical pipe when in position......

I have tried losening it as much as possible, but then it doesn't close fast enough. Now I actually have it tightened almost as much as possible, works best under higher boost that way.
I just don't wan't it venting back through the turbo, so I can't tighten it to much. But then again, if you do not tighten it, it has a tendency to vent to easy, ie on the high way on partial boost.
Same here, with the OEM bov it works ok, but I don't like it recircing.
BUT, is there really any harm (other than the awkward noice) when it doesn't happen over 0.4-0.5 bar, i.e. only on very low boost? I have a VF22, I got the impression that they are not as durable as some...

Harvey Smith, search on here!
Costs around £580 ish depending on exchange rates, incliding all import duties, taxes, from stock etc.
Kit comes with all pipes, hoses, and IC itself, seems to be popular and work well.
