Wish I could make it on the day - having got 415 at Powerstation and knowing that this gets about 50-60bhp less than Well Lane this gives you a target............ I got 419bhp (332 at the wheels) at G force - but I'm a little sceptical given that I didnt make it much out of the place before the car sounded again like a tractor - they were fine at PS in the morning!
and I need to get my headers sorted again they are blowing badly - did someone say GRUPPE-S are sh*t - yes I'd agree
Course I'll have to prove the power on the next power run day

Hi there.
Well done Steve. Some impressive figures there especially with headers/uppipe problems. That bodes well for my car later this year.
Craft, it kicks of at 9.30 mate, so I usually get there around 9.
I'll make the necessary changes for everyone else.
Cheers
Rich

Steve; Very good result. I am sure Andy Forrest is happy with your figures as it shows what his turbos can do regularly. Plenty time to get your headers fixed before Well Lane and it would be good to compare the results including PAW figures with what you already have.
I wish people would not add to the myth that W.L. reads high. I have done W.L., G-Force and P.E in a thirty six hour period for comparative readings.
On two other occassions, without any changes to my car I went to Star then W.L and got a lower figure at W.L. Next time I went to W.L. then G-Force and again the W.L. figure was lower.
Anyway it is the figures on the day on a group run that make interesting reading.

It must be just that PStation reads low
About a year ago I got 343 at PS followed by 2 runs at Well lane within a couple of month period - 389 then 403....... the car had the same spec
The Temps were very much the same between the days run........i.e. pretty cold on all 3 runs!!!
I may try and do all 4 in a couple of days - PS/PE and G Force 1 day then drive up to Well Lane the next day - just to compare the figures and see how the inlet temps compare as well on the runs!

Steve; You are totally out of order regards assumptions on figures that Well Lane produces in regards to G-Force or P.E. Be there on the day and show us comparative figures or shut up.
I can show you comparative figures and do nor know of anyone else who has put as much effort into getting relevant information.

i ran my old sti 5 engine on 3 rollers last year and the well lane does seem to read higher than the other 2, but the figures for some standard cars seems to be right on all 3
my car made 289bhp at john nobles at chesterfield, then 3 weeks later made 324bhp at well lane and 3 months prior to nobles i had made 298bhp at powerstation, all with no changes to the car.

I have done many RR days at Well Lane now and I have also been toi several organised by others.
I tend to agree with Harvey that Well Lane has had an unreasonably bad press over the years in terms of the accuracy of its rollers. I have not gone to the same efforts as Harv to ensure as much similarity between test conditions (ie I didn't test different rollers on the same day) but I have tested both my cars at both Well Lane and G-force within weeks of one another and found both sets of rollers were within 10 bhp of one another which on a 350bhp car is an acceptable tolerance I think.
I've never tested on PE or PS's rollers so I can't comment on those, but I agree with Mikee on the standard cars thing, which let's face it is our only true benchmark to the accuracy of the actual figures produced by the dyno as we have quoted figures from the manufacturer to compare it against.
Here is a list of some of the standard cars I have actually seen at Well Lane and pretty much all of them produced book figures:
M3 Evo 321bhp (book 321)
Integra type R 197bhp (book 197)
Toyota Rav 4 144bhp (book 140)
Honda CRX 148bhp (book 150)
Impreza MY00 214bhp (book 215)
Audi TT 225 223bhp (book 225)
Not bad at all, and these are all cars that I have actually seen pull these figures.
Cheers
Rich

My STi8 ran 269 (book 265)
With PPP ran 314 (book 305?)
All totally std, apart from with PPP was running 1%NF, and had ice on intercooler, to try and get rid of heat-soak.

As I've said I cant be there as I'm down in London on the day....per my other posts
Re the readings within a day of each other and mods I got 343bhp at PS and then got 389 at Well Lane - I then got 403bhp with the same mods at WL about a month after that.......... (of course for the 403 temps were slightly different). PS run the cars up differnetly on the rollers - hence the lower readings - the inlet temp was up to 43degrees at PS - it was 28 degrees at Well Lane (as Well Lane do very quick runs) - this provides some of the difference
As I got a very similar reading to PS at GForce we'll see. I certainly cant wait to see out of interest. I cant compare the recent runs at G Force and PS on inlet temps as I'm waiting for a new mechanism to read the inlet temps - however I suspect that the PS number may have been slightly lower again for the same reason that the temps would have been higher - as again G Force run the cars fairly quickly on the rollers
In any case I'm not saying that Well Lane reads high or others read low - that would be a little too 'Cavalier' given that I havent had my Car engine Dyno'ed (at great cost) and hence cant comment as to which one is correct - we all know its about comparative analysis on the day - but I know roughly what a run at PS will give me on the W Lane Rollers! - but I've explained part of the difference above

Thought I better post up as soon as I found out, not going to be able to make it next weekend due to Mrs.Scoobypreza having a really rough time at the moment with her pregnancy and don't want to leave her by herself, had arranged for someone to come and stay with her but they have let us down. Thought I would give someone else the chance and have my place. Have fun and maybe next time.

New list folks.
Also a quick notice to all attendees prior to the day, especially those who have never been before:
PLEASE CHECK OIL LEVEL, WATER LEVEL AND TYRE PRESSURES PRIOR TO THE DAY. YOUR CAR WILL BE RUN UP TO THE REDLINE IN 4TH GEAR SO IF THERE'S NO OIL IN IT, YOU'VE GOT A PROBLEM. ALSO, IF YOUR TYRES ARE DOWN SO WILL YOUR FIGURES BE.
THE RUN IS DONE ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. IF THE CAR BLOWS UP, IT'S TUFF POO. IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE, AND IS VERY VERY UNLIKELY, BUT JUST SO AS YOU KNOW.
ALSO WHEN THE CARS ARE RUNNING, PLEASE KEEP YOUR DISTANCE FROM THE ROLLERS. IF YOU SLIP AND FALL, IT'S BYE BYE LEGS.
AND ON THAT CHEERY NOTE, PLEASE HAVE A GOOD TIME AND I HOPE YOU ALL GET THE FIGURES YOU WANT.
Cheers
Rich
