Jews are a race, and also a religion. The Jewsish identity passes via the mothers lineage. Just for the record, many Jews do not believe in God yet still say they are Jewish. It is a racial identity for many.

 

Jews who don't believe in God but still feel Jewish - that's a cultural identity, not racial. One can convert to Judaism - a religion, but you can't convert to be an Arab. From studies that I have read Jews will adamantly tell you that they are NOT a race and that confusion can lead to incorrect statments such as yours. If you go down the 'blood line' arguement then all Christians are Jewish...

I've said this before and I'll say it again - there are only three acknowledged races on this planet: white/caucasian; black/negro and mongol/oriental. Look it up if you don't believe me...

Arabs are an 'ethnic' group, albeit a significant one. Jews or Judaism refers to a religion, not a race. The majority of 'modern' Jews have no anthropological links to the middle east whatsoever - in fact most of them, like most other caucasian people, originally came from the Caucasus region of southern Russia/central Asia.

If you must refer to 'race' try referring to the 'human race'....to which I presume we all belong?

(edited to say that some anthropologists argue that indigenous Australasians - ie Mauri & Aborigine - do in fact make up a fourth 'race', but hey, I'm no expert)

The Jews (original Hebrews, if you wish) were around before Jesus. And as He was born 600 years (is that right? Or is it 1100 years?) before Mohammed, surely there weren't any muslims then?

It's true that they lived in the same area, but I'd be inclined to suggest that the tribes of the area - the Ephraimites, Gileadites and so on - weren't generally of one religion at all but were pagans.
