when u say repairs, do you mean botches?

Christ, some of the crap (Aerosol brigade as i call them) that i have seen. Always get the b*rstard repair or colour but some are pathetic.

To give people an idea what smart repairs can save you, i recently did the sill on a brand new (1 month old) E class merc, the owner drove the car by a rock and scratched it from one end to the other.

I saved the guy £680.00 and boy was he pleased and you would never know it had been repaired.

So to all those who have minor scratches and scuffs, inside and out, check out smart repairs first. There are several of us on here who i am sure will be pleased to help you out.

Oh, little knocks sent a chap to you the other day cos he was very close to you.

edited to say "botches" not aimed at anyone, just a general reply to an above thread.

Cheers wrxsmo sounds good to me you're really local and especially if one of your guys is in Watford. Thinking instead of the pic I may pop it into you on Friday at somepoint. Is this any good to you? Just for an estimate.

Pete
When I say repairs it means repairs not botches, I run a trade franchise, basicly I do a set garage/dealer every day, every week, every month, every year. So if there were any botches I wouldnt be called back in.
As wrxsmo said the end result is only as good as the operator.
Cheers

Thanks Pete We'll have to get together for a cup of tea sometime.

As the other chaps have said, the bread & butter work of most smart repairers is dealer work & ours inc BMW, Merc, Subaru ( ) etc etc. The dealers have had the benefit of these type of repairs for quite sometime so dont go paying bodyshop prices unless you have to !

Dan, pop over anytime Friday for a chat mate

Cool

*snigger*

I'd forgotten about ChipsAway and the like. Just before Christmas, a work colleague of mine tried a little too hard to cram the company pool car into the (small) office car park, taking a chunk out of the paint on the corner of my back bumper in the process. He was suitably apologetic and offered to pay for the damage.

So, given that my car was due its 60k service anyway, I took it into my local Subaru dealer and arranged to have the repair done by their body shop. £400!!

Needless to say, I'm sure the end result will be great, and if it reminds my colleague to be a bit more careful in future then it's (his) money well spent

Sad thing is, he trashed his nearly-new Civic Type-R a couple of weeks later. I almost feel sorry for him now

James, "botches" was in reply to the other repairer who said repairs are only as good as the repairer. By what i said i meant i have seen some "repairs" that have been botches.

Sorry if you read it wrong, did not mean you or littleknocks

Regards

pete

If i see any stuff for sale james i will mail you.

Wow - £50-£60 ? I've got a bit of cracked paint on my bumper and the guy at Chipbusters said it would be more like £120. Is there somewhere in Hampshire where I could get it done for half that price then ?

For wrxsmo:

I live in SW London so you're not too far from me. Have an 03 WRX with dents in both passenger doors.

One is very minor and I guess could be a whilst I wait job but the other is a larger dent with a couple of deep scratches (some tw@t trashed it with a bike peddle I think). A garage I went to said that it may be that both doors need laquer and the larger dent will need some paint.

Qu - do you do this type of repair or just the no-paint dent removal re doors? If it needs paint & laquer, is this something that could be done on a Sat if I left the car with you at 8 and collected it at the end of the day? Could you give a rough cost?

Thanks

Jmk, We carry out all types of repairs, paintless dents, even full panel painting if req'd so I'm sure we can help.

I'm really gonna need to see it to give you an accurate quote but many of the guys here have emailed me pictures (LittleKnocks@btconnect.com)& I'll quote from those or obviously you can pop down so I can have a look.

By all means call me on 01895-822665 & I'll we'll have a chat.

Edited to say Just ask for Chris
