i'm def up for this, that is if it's not in the next couple of weeks as my babe is of the road!!

 

I'd be up 4 this,,sounds like fun,,, would love to contribute to the decibel level with my de-catted type R... will try and round up a few of the west london mob as well.

maybe we can do the short tunnel under the hanger lane by-pass part of the A40 which will take us to Ace Cafe?? been through there on my own and it sounds awsome!!

hope you don't mind if we tag along!!

Looking forward to this even more now as I have just completed a tunnel run of my own.....Awesome!

Don't know what the route is that you have planned, but the route I took was this:

A13 from Thurrock.
Through the 2 new underpasses along the A13.
The new tunnel near Limehouse link.
Limehouse link (Watching out for the cameras!).
Turned right, right and right again and through Rotherhithe tunnel.
Around the roundabout at the end and straight back through Rotherhithe tunnel.
Left, left and left again and back through Limehouse link.
Re-join A13 London bound and through Blackwall tunnel.
Continue A2, onto M25 and the final blast through Dartford Tunnel!

Went really smoothly as the tunnels all run on to each other quite closely once you get to Canning Town area.

I have to say Rotherhithe tunnel was definitley the best tunnel!! Smaller than blackwall and if enough scoobs come along we will pass each other in the tunnel after going round the roundabout!

Just a note of caution though....if this is similar to the route we take on the big day, I passed 14 Speed cameras on this route!

So look out!!

 

Sir Fizz, You are a Darling, Thats sounds awesome Had the same route but was going to do The Dartford Tunnell first, Thinking about it though your's sounds better

One thing though, Would it be to far out of the way to go to the Ace cafe, Have spoken to them and they would love to see us whilst we are on route? If it is off route perhaps we could do this another time?

Think that we will go with that Tunnell route though!!

The lights between the limehouse link and Rotherhithe tunnel may cause us to get a bit split up, but i'm sure we could find somewhere to pull over and re-group before we enter Blackwall if needed.

Ace Cafe is along way from any of these tunnels, not sure how to incorporate it easily to be honest unless we continue round the M25 after Dartford (including tunnels near M11 and A10) and down the M1 or get on to the A406 at some point (via either A13 or M11?) and follow that round (a few underpasses included).

Here is the suggested route in a little more detail for those not familiar with the area.

• Meet at Thurrock Services Main Car Park.
• Leave services and join A13 – London bound.
• Continue A13 (Watch out for 30mph speed cameras around Beckton).
• Stay in right-hand lane on Canning town flyover.
• Enter new tunnel towards Isle-of-Dogs.
• Continue over flyover and into Limehouse link (Watch out for 30mph cameras x 3 in tunnel).
• Stay in right-hand lane towards end of tunnel.
• Turn right at traffic lights.
• Continue under bridge and turn right at next lights.
• Stay in right-hand lane to next lights, turn right and continue through Rotherhithe tunnel. (Watch out for 20mph camera at entrance to tunnel).
• Circumnavigate roundabout at the end of tunnel and straight back through Rotherhithe tunnel. (Watch out for 20mph camera at entrance to tunnel again).
• On exit of Rotherhithe tunnel, take first left (before lights).
• Follow to end (under bridge), turn left and left again at lights and back through Limehouse link. (Watch out for 30mph cameras x 3 in tunnel again).

**Due to the traffic lights around this area, the group might get split up a bit, so it may be an idea to re-group somewhere convenient before continuing**

• Continue over flyover (exit at this flyover if McDonalds stop is required), stay in left hand lane to roundabout (NOT through tunnel!!!), take 2nd exit on roundabout towards A13.
• Turn left at lights and re-join A13 London bound, stay in left-hand lane and filter off to the left and through Blackwall tunnel.
• Continue A2, onto M25 and the final blast through Dartford Tunnel.

End of run!

It may be an idea to re-group in Thurrock Services after Dartford tunnel if required and then decide if a run to Ace Café is going to happen or congregate for drinks somewhere.


Just a note of caution....There are approximately 14 Speed cameras on this route with limits including 20mph, 30mph & 50mph! Keep your eyes peeled!!!

Sorry to be a massive pain in the ***, but can we have a little map of the route with the roads felt tipped in ?

As in Fron Narful ive never ventured into Lundun Village before, and after the Blain Run, (got lost after 15mins) id rather have a map so that i know where i have to go.

Hope its not too much of a pain
