Had a go at a woman in Tescos in Tenterden last Sunday - completely ignored me until she came back out the shop and found I'd parked about 1mm from her rear bumper - refused to move until the gf and kiddies came back out 10 minutes later!!

If no-one ever made a comment to those parking in M&B and Disabled places out of selfishness, they would carry on being totally oblivious to those who genuinely need those spaces and thinking they can get away with it all the time.
Needs more people to say things to them IMO.

I find it easier just to avoid the place.
I remember when we first moved to london... we thought the sainsbury's in muswell hill was some kind of temple to extravagance. we could only afford to go there about once a year.
ahh, those days...

Normal parking spaces are too small... I don't see why people with babies shouldn't struggle in and out of their cars like the rest of us have to. They chose to have the baby.
I don't have a problem with disabled spaces though, apart from the fact that they always make up a greater proportion of the car park than the ratio of disabled people to able bodied.

ever pushed a pram across a busy retailers carpark? you know, the type of carpark where the tight capitalist ***** didnt want to invest in walkways so unfortunately mum has to dodge ***** who drive too fast? thats why the m+b spaces are there,so they can back their cars onto walkways and walk on a footpath,or have the shortest routes possible

Is it right that we should suffer because other people want to have babies?

Misty, remember what happens when people keep their noses out?
When they came for the Catholics I said nothing because I was not a Catholic.
When they came for the Jews I said nothing because I was not a Jew.
When they came for the union members I said nothing because I was not a union member.
When they came for me no one said anything because they all had already been taken.
You, sir, are worse than Hitler.

It's all about courtesy and consideration (definately not suggesting that you don't have any).
It's not that different to giving your seat up, on a train/bus etc to a pregnant lady. I'm sure you can't argue with that ?
On a more cynical note mothers/fathers generally do more shopping and spend more money so maybe supermarkets are just keeping the big spenders sweet

i've written to tesco's and they have confirmed that they are prepared to open a supermarket exclusively for ajm's use. The supermarket is to be the tesco's at bakers' arms, leyton, london. no-one else wants to use it in any case.

Don't really mind mother and BABY spaces (note that they are mother and BABY, NOT mother and child/brat/etc.) as long as they get used and prevent Bl**dy door dinks as they're parking there rather than next to me.

Read your post again when you're over 25, or have kids, and see how it sounds then. I think you'll be rightly embarrassed.

If you were disabled you might understand that your comment about the ratio of disabled spaces to normal is very rarely great enough, especially when the likes of Dave gtt feel like using them when they are not entitled.

What I have a problem with, however, is the EXPECTATION people have that because they have chosen to have children they should be given privileged treatment.

Why should the rest of us baby-less people be shoved to the far end of the carpark and stuck in parking spaces that are so small our cars get damaged?
M&b & the genuine disabled have a very difficult task when doing something as simple as shopping.
You I assume are a fit young guy and shouldn't for one moment lose sight of how important that is and how lucky you are.
Walk from the back of the car-park with a sense of gratefulness because you can.
I know many car accident victims who would love to be in that position, they too used to walk.
Think about it.

It is nice however that people have thought to offer M&B spaces etc as they do make life a hell of a lot easier.

"Suffer"? Mate you don't know the meaning of the word! You're seriously more concerned about your car, and the fact you might have to walk a few tens of metres more to the shop, than consideration for the safety of a baby's life??!

Given the nature of your response perhaps you should revisit your opinion of who is acting more like an "over 25" and who should be rightly embarrassed.
p.s. believe it or not I am over 25
