Yes, but by having a second car you find that the majority of your driving experience is not in your "favourite" car.

Personally, I buy cars to drive them. Did 90k in the Scoob in 3 years. Now have a Cerb (mine) and 206CC (wife's), neither of which is very practical.

There was a short period where I was running a Pug 406 to work and using the Scoob for the weekend. But firstly I kept finding myself driving the Pug and ending up in situations where I wished I'd had the Scoob (e.g. next to a Mini Cooper S giving it some away from the lights). And secondly I couldn't be bothered to swap them round in the garage/driveway at the weekends so I just ended up driving the Pug all the time.

Now I go to work (different place) by train, so having two cars is an extravagance, let alone three

My shopping trolley is a Honda Civic Type-R, and jolly fine it is too. Lots slower than the Scooby, but the most amazing throttle response off this car, handles nicely as well (for a front wheel drive bread-van).
