MY98 Impreza Turbo. Had 6 months, done 5k miles needed new rear brakes pads and wipers - that's it.
Few other things done as preference.
Always started first time, never missed a beat even when driven enthusiastically, most reliable car I have ever owned, and passed MOT 1st time
If anything I would change the fuel consumption (suppose I could do that by taking the lead out of my right trainer!)
Edit to say 91k when I got it, now 96k.

MY02 WRX wagon.
Faults? Slight knocking sound in driver's door over rough roads (like we get in Yorkshire). Solution? Grease the locking mechanism....
Nothing else at all.....
Changes? More power off boost, especially in 4th/5th. New Legacy style interior. Slightly lower ride height.
Otherwise - bl**dy brilliant!!!

MY95 JDM WRX acquired, as a week-end toy, about 7 months ago @ just over 60,000 miles. Fuel pump soon failed but was replaced. Immediate work needed after importation: new front discs & pads, plugs @£40 each and a cam-belt @£95, plus an alarm/immobiliser and a full service. Went to Cannes this year for me hols where it performed well over 2,500 miles. It's now up to 70,000. However, the car is noisy, thirsty and rattles. It costs a small fortune to insure and a small fortune to run. I wouldn't have it any other way. BRILLIANT!!! Where else can you get 260 bhp (or thereabouts) and 9.9 on the grin-factor Richter scale?

why are you lot paraniod!!!
i didnt relise you all had so much to hide!
Nah, joking aside, so what i work in insurance, its cr*p, but will cover the running costs of my future turbo!!!
I asked this post, as i have read loads of posts where people are asking about stuff thats gone wrong with there cars, i just wanted to know how reliable they are. As ive said in other posts, im looking for a MY96 car, uk or jdm not usre, but dont want it going wrong or blowing up, so im doing as much research as possible (hence the dodgy sounding posts) so that i can make sure im making the right decision!!
Please dont get paranoid, im nobody, also i didnt know you could search old posts, (i have been looking at each page, upto 103 at the mo!!)
Sorry if ive bugged anyone!

Had my bug-eye from new 2 years, 33 000 miles.
Nothing has gone wrong with it, bar the Check Engine Light crying foul once <crosses fingers>
I love the fact that I have a four door family car (I have a 4 y.o.) that also doubles up as a performance car in its spare time.
I'd like the interior rattles to go away please

I had a MY00 for nearly four years and 93k miles. Got through five sets of tyres, four sets of pads, three sets of discs, one set of dampers and one clutch (and a f**k lot of fuel!). I view all these things as consumables.
Only thing that actually went wrong is that an oil seal went in the rear diff. I reckon that's pretty good

WRX 03, 7k, few fattles from dash, dampers seem noisy when car is cold and going over speed bumps, had to change headunit and speakers as stock items were crap, odd noise at 62-64mph (wind vibrating bodywork - dealer had no idea - will get it rechecked at 10k service.
What would I change - need a rear wiper as it's impossible to see out when reversing and it's wet. Perhaps should have bought an almost new bug-eye and saved £5-7k, but you live and learn.
What's best - it works when I turn the key every time and puts a smile on your face after every drive. (Used to have a Corrado that broke down 8 times in 11 months - some much for VAG quality.)

Blimey - I didn't think it was possible to have a Corrado that was less reliable than mine which broke down 4 times in one year
Had to have a laff at top gear on Sunday. Future classic - my ****

Corrado Storm was a great car when it worked, but after being on the back on a tow truck 5 times and getting the AA to fix it three times I'll never buy secondhand VW again as I could never rely on getting to my destination.
If only everything in life was as reliable as a Volkswagen then we'd al be screwed.
