I have to say we didnt see a single camera van anywhere all weekend
How that can be i have no idea, we covered around 700 miles in Wales last weekend too.
Before anyone starts, YES i can usually see them,
In 14 years of driving i aint been caught once
*touches the wooden table*

Personally I think it's long over due that parts of the rally come out of Wales..... What happened to the good old days when we had stages in Chatsworth and the midlands/north as well as Taff land....
As for the Welsh Police's attitude...... It Sucks.. They see the event as a money making excercie and quite obviously an inconvenience... If thats the Case "**** THEM" Take it else where. There are Rally's run right up and down this country in areas that would give blood for a World wide event and bend over backwards to run it right and attract, not warn off visitors.
I went last year as I always do and it was a total sham (NOT THIS FRIGGING YEAR THOUGH)....The road marking was Sheeite, the cost was ridiculous and I was one of the Sap's who's tickets they neglected to send me and informed me on the day before that I'd have to pick them up in Cardiff..... BRILLIANT WHEN YOU LIVE IN KENT..... As for the Super specials I hope to god they ran it better this year... I have never seen such a free for all of Tosssers fighting to get on Buses to get back to car parks... I was with the wife, On crutches, and a 9 year old Kid.... It was discusting not a F'King marshal or barrier in sight..
I live and Breath Rally but if they are to carry on promoting the image of a Global Event then they best get it booked into an area that welcomes enthusiasts and let a decent company organise it...

As mentioned by others, we will probably be stuck with a Wales - only Rally until 2006 - although I did like the FIA's "Well if the Police and local magistrates obviously think there are some really dangerous roads in the area, we'll have to think about maybe moving it, possibly, sort of" - comment !
I agree with you totally, 100% about the need to move it into somethin like a 'touring' rally of old 'Lombard RAC' syle. That was a true Rally experience with a mix of scenery, stages and areas of the country which rotated year to year.
I'm sure someone will come up with a very good reason why it wouldn't work again, but for ENTERTAINMENT and VALUE FOR MONEY, they took some beating. Grizedale or Kielder anyone ?

I hope the FIA does take it else where in the UK but where will the Police turn down the chance to have a big pay day and be sensible about speed traps?
Not in the UK then from what we see. Greed rules.
