Update on my project!
The engine dyno is Dave Wild's in Harlow, great guy who is very helpful and is v good with the Pectel. Thats him in the shot at the consul, I 've spent time in there, nice setup, very particular about how things are done and always drives the dyno himself but happy to allow others to map. Does a lot of Cossie work as well.

As I have said elsewhere - am happy to credit everyone who has been involved in my project, including dyno cell man, when the car is up and running - so hopefully not too long!
Mark.

David/Trout/Whatever you are calling yourself now
Your car has come on in leaps and bounds since we last spoke!!
Very impressive! I'm looking forward to a quick passenger ride in that, maybe down your own personal 1/4 mile strip!!
See you in a couple of months!

it will be very interesting to see how the unit does once it is in the car and on the black stuff.
I do not think john banks 2.5 will ever get near to the sort of peak figures , that uprated internals and a closed deck block should get. he is hoping to get figures up to the lateral gearkit warranty , which may be the limiting factor for you guys without going dog box and paddle clutch. I think it was a combination of the failed engines and the gear kits limit , that eventually made his mind up , that the EJ257 was the way to go for his needs. he is very confident that it will make the figures he wants but I think he may end up with another highly stressed unit, we will have to see
.
do you know of any differences between your spec and john's 2.33's?
obviously his last 2.36 , which we never saw/heard , would have been different to yours but we still do not know why his earlier units did not work
. they had suspected the re-used tensioner with the first unit , although anyone who actually heard the car , questioned this and this was further ruled out after the strip, inspection and full rebuild with new tensioner , by the engine builder . the completed unit then fitted by falkland performance which suffering exactly the same issues as the first unit
. with the final 2.36 unit , no-one in Scotland had anything to do with it as the whole car had gone down by that time. I think that there had been mention of the heads until they worked with the EJ257.
anyway, good luck with the development.

Excellent news David T.
I look forward to seeing this on the road in the not too distant. I guess it will probably be the most powerful road going scooby in the UK, which is good news for the scooby tuning community as it raises the bar again.

Thanks for all your support guys...it has been a long time coming and probably even more frustrating for those helping than me! Thanks to all of them - I will put up more details when I am back - away from the PC for a week so will catch up when I am back.
Actual figures were 555bhp and 526lbs ft. Peak boost was 1.82bar, and peak power came at around 1.6-1.7bar - will post actual figures soon. So much for a girly turbo

Nice one Rannoch
Just a taste of what you (we) can expect from that sort of power. Kev Sharp has similar power and torque from his 2.0 Escort Cossie, weighing in at a hefty 1410kg it has just been tested at brunters using datatron timing equipment..........
0-60 in 2.94
0-100 in 6.3
0-150 in 13.92
1/4 mile in 10.8 at 134.7
Bring it on........

Andy,
thanks for setting the expectation...
...I think my car weighs in around the 1280kg mark...however it has less rubber than an Escort Cosworth!!
So swings and roundabouts on that one. My biggest fear is that the gearbox will go bang if I put my foot down hard!!!!!!
