Just finished tidying up...I reckon I must've really, really liked Pearl Jam's "Ten" - I have 2 copies of it and my Metallica collection was even bigger than I remembered.
Also have 2 copies of U2's "Achtung Baby" which was another fave
Totally useless piece of trivia time...I have more CDs with band names starting with S than any other (Sepultura, Slipknot, Silverchair, Staind, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Simple Minds, Sisters Of Mercy, Scorpions, Smashing Pumpkins, Savatage to name but a few!) closely followed by the letter P (Pearl Jam, Puddle of Mudd, Papa Roach, Tom Petty, Pantera, Psychedelic Furs, Iggy Pop, The Pogues, Public Enemy, Pride & Glory, Paradise Lost etc. etc.), then the letters M, C and D.
Told ya it was useless info

From: R.I.P Piphead, at least you are home now :(
I actually bought Tall Blonde Helicopter from HMV, and at the same time bought Fish's latest Album, and the girl behind the desk said to me
'listen to Fish first, as once you listen to Tall Blonde Helicopter, you wont stop listening to it, as it is awesome, and far superior to Fish'
I was suprised by her comments, obviously a real music fan
I bought the rest of his albums from Dunnery himself, the gigs are fantastic too

From: Lots of different places! (Thank you Mr. Lambert)
Good question this.
I think for me the album that has stood the test of time since I first bought it in 1978 (yes I am that old) is David Bowie's "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars".
Other albums have come and gone in my life and sure there have been some tracks from other artists that have stayed with me for many many years, but as a complete album I don't think this one can be beaten (IMHO).
Put it this way it is 30 years old and I have owned it first on vinyl and then on CD since 1978 and I still listen to it regularly - for me it will never date or lose it's freshness - a genius at the height of his powers.
Ater that I'd have to choose Peter Gabriel's 4th solo album called (imaginatively) "Peter Gabriel" (just like the previous three
), Kate Bush's first album "The Kick Inside" and Diana Krall's "When I Look in your Eyes".
But the of course there's .... OK I'll shut up now!
Regards,
tiggers.

Faith No More - the real thing album with epic, from out of nowhere and all that! or Ozzy 'No More Tears' album or or or Aerosmith 'Pump' but number one...but only just, Def Leppard 'Hysteria' album along with Bon Jovi 'New Jersey'!!!!! It will all change again in a minute!!!!!!
Guns and Roses "Appetite for Destruction".
dIRE sTRAITS "Brothers in Arms"
Joe Satriani "Surfing with the Alien"
both played well and truly to death on tape, now updated to CD, in the car constantly... and i'm only 25...
ps. why can't the majority of girls appreciate music that was not released before they were 10 years old?

Iron Maiden - Brave New World
The Cult - Electric
ACDC - Highway to Hell
WASP - The Headless Children
Metallica - Justice For All

There's ten that I'd have trouble living without on a desert island.
