I now have my knocklink in my gauge pod, remote mounted leds, works quite well.

The lambda link, i had attached to the dash just behind the indicator stalk, so you could see the lights when driving straight and the indicator was off. Again worked well.

Sink?? You don't wanna put any car components in the sink, they could rust if it's full of water

(Sorry, couldn't resist I'll get me coat..............)

Lofty - yes Phil @ Welptons when we all got a £25 off voucher.

I had bought 5 litres of Mobil 1 0w40, K&N performance panel filter and denso iridium plugs from GGR.

Phil advised me the oil should be a little heavier and used the Magnatec 5w40. The air filter we didn't use because it was oil impregnated and apparently oil sticking to MAF sensor causes the twin headed goatlike cupped feet four arsed bastad to appear.

Mr D - Before the service mentioned above - just after getting the car - it did have an idle problem, like it has now but nowhere near as bad. Phil cleaned out the stepper and it was fine. He advised that the steppers can go on P1's and as they are derivatives of the Type R, this may well be a similar issue as they both use the same stepper.

Phew

Sounds like a good idea but does remote mounting the leds involve the use of ribbon cable and solder???? Hmmmm, recipe for disaster there then!!!

I've gotta do summat tho or I'm gonna end up rear-ending someone (oo-er missus) if I carry on looking down into the footwell whilst driving hard

Don't think my interior trim will take much more ripping out and shoving in again, it's all starting to get loose and rattly 'cos it's been in and out so many times!! I think I've buggered up the wiring on my GPS stuff as well now - it don't seem to work since I installed the Links

What should the compression be? And should it be the same on all cylinders?

So what's next? The Lambda sensor?

Default Lambda test: Mr D

On tickover voltage on lambda is .7v

When increasing revs goes from .6 to .7 but doesn't fluctuate

Pum -

Bryn - that don't sound right to me. Does yours have a check engine light? Has this been on? When my Lambda sensor was fecked the CEL came on. Has Phil had a look? With the Select monitor you can instantly tell if it's not working right. But I don't know if the Select monitor is compatible with yours. Best bet would be to try one of Mr D's lambda sensors and see if that solves it. If you need a lift up there tomorrow gimme a bell.
