Default I got Problems :(

['so what's new' I hear you say]

Since fitting the DV and lightened pulleys, I have two issues:

1. Idle speed - Car hunts like a tw@t, revving up to 8000 RPM, then drops to about 4000 and continues in a cycle. The rev needle moves up and the boost gauge needle drops at the same time if that makes any sense??? When parking up, the car wants to stall.

2. DV - have noticed that when at a constant speed (say 80 MPH) I get a momentary loss in boost, which occurs simultaneously with a release of air from the valve - this I know 'coz I can hear it.

What's wrong? Do I have a leak somewhere? Does the the spring setting need to be harder in the DV? Have I lost inertia on the pulleys?

Answers on a postcard to...

Default Brief update

Have just spoken to Forge motorsport, who have asked I send the valve back as it shouldn't be making a noise at all!

Leaky valve anyone?

Morning muppets!

Happy Birthday Filfy What did you think to The Grudge????

I fitted my knocklink and lambdalink yesterday! Took me ALL day! And I've dented my wing with my knee by leaning on the car while struggling to get the feckin intercooler back on

Hello scoobymods Where you from and what do you drive???

Pumster - is that you?????

I took the ic off so i could get at the mounting point. i was also putting the lambdalink on so needed to get at the lambda probe in the downpipe - much easier with no ic in the way.

Right then - Well Lane on Sunday...............

Who's going and what time? Personally I'm not really bothered what time we go, I'll just go with the flow. I think Pum (or should that be Scoobymods ) had suggested 7.30 at McD's on Clive Sully?

If you don't know where Well Lane is, have a look here.............

I had another look at my car and I probably could have done it without taking the ic off, but you know what a cack-handed cabbage I am with tools - I'd have probably made a complete **** of it without loads of space to play with!! Did you connect both wires to the sensor (black and brown) or just one? And how did you wire up the lambda link? Straight off the skinny little black wire on the lambda sensor itself? Did you earth the green wire to the engine?

yes both the wire's need to go to the knock sensor!!
as for the lamba sensor wire yes direct to the lamba probe in the down pipe after the turbo.
green wire must be earthed on the engine block i put it under the throttle cable bracket.
