It's been a while since I posted...so...
DON'T GO TO welptons. I took my car in for it's first 1,000 mile service and they scratched the interior door card - then denied all knowledge. They've now said they'll order the part in...mmm not sure I even trust them to fit it...The car is only 6 weeks old - Could've cried...
also - DON'T GO to the body shop on Therm Road off Cleveland Street. They charged me £600 for some minor bumper work on my VW (got it done through work) and they didn't do the best job. They are even BMW and Lexus approved...Appologies if anyone works at either of these places.

Scoobynew: Like the idea of a 'bumper meet' although it sounds a bit sad. I really want my alignment sorting out and reckon more heads better than one (mine).
Pum: Yes, would like any advice on getting bumpers off and back on.
Jamesemt: Are you referring to the place down the side of Spiders? They repainted my front wings on my old scoob when rust began to show, they promised I'd get my car back all valeted. They had it three weeks, had to pay for a hire car for me as the job went two weeks over, didn't valet it, it was filthy inside but they did keep to their word about one thing - if the rust comes back we'll re-do the job. Well, it did and they did.

I need to clear the loan I took out to buy it in the first place, so I need about 6k cash - the re-payments are swallowing all our spare money so each month end it's getting tighter and tighter
To be honest I made a mistake getting rid of my previous one, then I compounded that mistake by getting a car more expensive than my self-imposed budget. Ferne will fully support the fact it's all my fault.
Now of course the insurance is due and it's 50% increased from last year, which I just can't afford. Last year we already had insurance and I paid a small premium to upgrade from one car to the other. This year I'm finding it ridiculous! Ferne only does 8 or 10 miles a day, so it's just not sensible.
I don't WANT to sell it, but I'm trying to be "sensible". And for 6k ish we could get all sorts of other cars, just not 2 years old like this one is.

Well done darling for admitting that it was a mistake to get rid of my previous pride and joy!!!!
Here are a few words of wisdom from my treasured Dale Carnegie's Golden Book:
From the Don't Worry about Criticism chapter:
Analyze your own mistakes and criticize yourself.
and from the Cultivate a Mental Attitude that will Bring You Peace and Happiness chapter:
Create happiness for others.
Which basically means I had better like/pick my next car - remember darling I don't do boring!!!!!!!
XX Love you!!!!

Go for it Ferne - make the most of the fact that Paul's publicly admitted he made a mistake Seriously tho, sorry that the Scoob has to go. You should have no trouble selling her, she IS immaculate.
Still no bambino And now Debs is full of cold and feeling decidedly ill. Oh what fun!

She's got to go to the clinic on Thursday for them to "manually assist" (I won't go into the details ). If that doesn't work then full-on inducing on Saturday.
Thanks for the best wishes - I'll pass them on

pum - yeah, give us it please mate
I would like to get a classic, but for 5-6k what sort of thing are we going to get?? A high miler or a pre 97 car. I've been asked if I want a 91,000 mile MY98 with proven 270 bhp, but that would give me as much of an insurance headache as this one! "Any mods sir?" ... ummmm... one or two I'd prefer a standard car.
I'd rather sell the exhaust off our WRX to put it back to standard (not the lights though) and bite the bullet to pay for another years' insurance.. but we'll see what happenes.

red - yep, thats us
Pum I rang Well Lane and the chap there told me they would offer me what I consider a "reasonable" amount if I left the morettes on. I can sell the pipe and stereo seperately..
So I'll hold on for a bit, then confirm it with them I reckon and get rid.
Import Celica next maybe.... need to have a nosey around and do some insurance checks again I suppose.

I will of course endeavour to attend, but I will NOT be "blasting".. for starters I daren't bin it if I'm getting rid, I may not even stil HAVE it (in which case Steve you can give me a lift, new baby dependent of course - how is she btw? Send her our bestest! ) and of course, the main reason... it's THE SLOWEST!
So there. I'll maybe bring my Omega.. got more cylinders and more cc that all YOUR cars
