Is passion ford a replacement for the rs owners club forum I used to go on, or is it something completely different?

On a seperate note. My mate has a fiesta rs turbo and is having trouble getting gears with the engine running. He can put it in gear with the engine off then start up and pull away, but with the engine running it won't go in gear. Clutch is still biting at the bottom. Any ideas? Is it a common problem?

People are using it while RSOC is down, but TBH i think theyl keep using it, they not gona suddenly ditch it to go back to RSOC BB as PF isbetter than RSOC BB ever was.

Theyl use both or PF, cant see many barring RSOC die hards going right back to RS BB

You will have to wait and see won't yer Steve. You can't speak for everyone, PF doesnt even have 2k members and there were 8k + on the old RSOC bb! Most people using PF I imagine will use both, unless it's for RSOC Members only!

I dont think theres many of them left now Steve considering its been off line for a couple of months now. I use to like the RSBB but it kept going down all the time.

Very good point Steve Re: the members......PF is FAR busier than RSOC ever was as it doesn't take 5 minuted just to load a page on PF so more people reply to posts. Me for example I was on RSOC for about 2 years & posted less in that time than in 3 months or whatever PF has been up for simply because I couldn't be arsed on RSOC.

Redkop,

I didn't say anything about hits I'm affraid I was talking about ACTIVITY (ie. number of posts) nothing to do with hits......lot's of lurkers rather than posters simply because it was such a pain in the **** just to look at the posts, never mind actually posting & getting continual time-out errors etc!!!

Cheers,
Ian
PS. Also remember that on PF you can go onto the forums & look freely without having to register, whereas for the last year or so on RSOC you had to sign up just to look so you're gonna get more members but they are actually just lurkers!

Stu, no. of visitors and pageviews are more meaningful than 'hits' (not a dig btw, just pointing it out)

PF's post count speaks for itself

I do have a name you know! I also meant hits without refreshes as well. I find 15m rather an incredible figure tbh - especially when the size of ScoobyNet with nearly 31k members only has 30m per month and normally well in excess of 400+ users online during the day at any one time. What's the average recorded number of users online during the day at any one time Stu?

Quote from Shaun on a previous thread

As regards to Scoobynet using an "old" program, that simply is not the case. Up to about 2 yrs ago, we were required by sheer traffic, to develop our own BBS software. This was purely because the previous off the shelf software (market leader), was not up to the task of dealing with the traffic that Scoobynet was attracting at the time. This was just as well, as since then, the traffic has doubled, increasing month on month. FYI Scoobynet receives circa 30 million hits a month, and is one of the biggest motoring sites in the world and one of the biggest sites overall in the UK.

Bloody hell.. no need to spit your dummy out Lynne, at the time of writing i couldnt remember "who" actually said it, i had a quick scan with a brew after workin on cars solid, non stop since 7:30 this morning!!

Scoobynet rules... the guys have done a fantastic job, whos arguing? Not me!!

As for the hits being "incredible".. well the graph is there for you to see.. and as Bill says, its "visits" that are the interesting data, not Hits.

I have that link somewhere but i shant bother posting it if its going to cause some argument!
