PPS also i dont recommend std head bolts on a 450plus BHP engine...i can confirm that as my RS500 block has cracked around 4 bolt holes.....it appears the ARP's would have been a better bet after all....thats what happens when you listen to people who quote but have no experience....LOL...Anyhow..got me a long studded 200 block..
Phil ima
PMSL......at one time you said long studding a block was a waste of time .....ROTFPMS.....
Anyway i told you about that your block would crack around where the head bolts go and you wouldn't listen ...but now you know ..PMSL

afaik elf do fuel from 99ron to 115ron.
you won't really gain noticable bhp unless your car is mapped to use the higher grade fuel.
as an example the reyland escort made 578 bhp@7000 rpm on optimax and 627 bhp@7000 rpm on 102 ron fuel BUT it does have seperate maps for each type of fuel!

Marco yes it is useless to long stud a block unless you run 34psi held on a T4..ROFL!
As you see i tell everyone my experiences wether it makes me looks stupid or what...how many other people can say the same..

Did yer block crack cause its an old 500 item and not a new stronger 200 block ? And no down the head bolts ?
T3 subject closed.....erm still not seen a pj or any roadcar make 330 on the rollers

dingy! you cant go moving the goal post mate! race/road its still the same engine at the end of the day.
you said no more than 310bhp can be made on a YB with a T3 bolted to the side when infact the touring cars made 360bhp with dont forget a SMALLER T3 than the 4x4`s T3 we are talking about!
The main differance between the touring car and the road car is a set of cams and fuel so lets say that give another 30 MAX on a smaller 2wd T3 how much more would it have made on the 4x4`s turbo
My moneys on Pj knows what hes talking about.

I don't remember touring cars having less then a t4
touring cars run on race fuel
Not movin the goal posts, as we were on about road car chips from road car tuners, not motorsport...and touring car stuff from works teams......

Dingy it cracked because std head bolts are crap on proper powered engines!!!!!Its funny how Stu seems to think he told me long stud it....ARP is the second best to WRC long stud.I should NOT have listened to certain people..

Dingys got a point about race fuel...
the higher the octane fuel the more power per amount of ex gas, so more power can be got out of a certain sized turbo ex housing.
thats why turbos are rated to about half the power handling when fitted to a diesel, like Holset HX50s which can push upwards of 700bhp on a petrol car on race fuel are rated to about 400bhp on an oil burner...
So yea, T3 properly mapped on race fuel would push the 350bhp or whatever the first 3dr touring cars did that a road car wouldnt on that turbo...

that isn't the case mate... i have seen alot blocks even useing with t34'turbos running over 25 psi...thats had the same cracks around where the head bolts go ....
i don't care what any one says when a cos engine is running any thing over 25 psi to what ever boost 30+....the head wants to lift of the engine block and this is what causes the cracks.....its the boost pressure that trying to pull the head of the engine

Cossie Abuser, (or any of the other PF trackday boys come to think of it!) what you up to next monday? Fancy a trackday at Castle Combe? will be a superb day, OPEN pitlane and loads of fast Evos to chase.
All for £139... VERY good value and run by Darin Flow who REALLY knows what makes a good trackday.
Come on chaps.... you know who wanna! I'm going, so is Martin, Sean, Steve Scott, Rich Pon, etc...
