If you need a job that bad, go and work for a supermarket or something. This will stop/slow you money problems and then you can look for a permanent job (once you know what you want to do )

Go register with a local agency that can find you some temp work. This should earn about £200 a week (paid weekly which can help), maybe more.At the same time try and find yourself a permanent job you are interested in.
I have just been made redundant and this is my plan. Just keeping some money coming in until the dream job falls from the heavens.

thanks mate
maybe something on the cards though... dropped an application in yesterday, the lady on the desk skimmed over it, said "hang on, i'll just fetch the manager..."
[i'm thinking... err can't remember shoplifting here...]
manager turns up... reading my cv with raised eyebrows... "err, can you start immediately?" so i said i didn't have to give notice, to which she said,"i'll be in touch in the next couple of days, i just need to ok this with my boss..."
it all looked and sounded pretty positive, and it's on more money than Halfords!
[fingers crossed mode on]

got a job coming online with HSBC in a call centre, but would really rather something in the high end of the motor industry... anyone know of any vacancies in testing/evaluation or the like?

good thinking gareth and thanks for the advice mate, will delete it from CV's i present in future... i'd always kind of hoped it would work the other way... being from Llanelli most jobs down here are NMW, thought i'd put the point over that i was earning (slightly) more than that... but then again in other parts of the country 12.5k is p!ss poor for anything i suppose.
at the moment i'd be happy to cover the direct debits i've got coming out in 20 days' time... without having to clean toilets.
anything in motorsport would be blo0dy brilliant... that's where i'd really like to be heading as a career for the future.

Sorry m8, hope I didn't appear to be too flippent with the motorsport comment...I've just seen the other post in NSR, and just realised how important this is, I hadn't realised this was immediate, I thought you fancied a change of job
Good luck with the search, will let you know if I think of anything that can help
Cheers Gareth
EDITED TO ADD - why don't you post this in the Wales forum as well, someone local might just pick up on it and be able to offer you something
