S Mancs Curborough day out
yeah as you said graham, cheers again Andy
. it was a superb day, i thought i had an idea of what a scoob can do on the road but soon as you get used to the track you realise how good the cars are. the grip is phanomonal
, and alot easier to control on the limit than i thought it would be. learnt so much about the cars abilities
Pete, told you i'd hand you your *** on a plate

can't wait to go and do it again, improve on my 67:70 ( not that we timed or anything
)

A cracking day - and I was starting to feel more comfortable towards the end when it was time to go (picked up kids with 3 mins to spare!). Thanks for great day again guys - esp Andy the organiser. Get it booked for next year.
Both my brakes and tyres are f00ked - but not as bad as steel's. Poor guy always comes off worse!!!

Lots more photos to come, some really good ones also. Ideal for xmas pressies for girlfriends, wifes or friends with **** cars!

Nothing a bit of air can't fix ;-)
I was back on the track in 30 mins.
Very very good day (Cheers Andy!). Defo up for another and I must stop fiddling with the CD player when entering corners...
:-)
Steel
(2 offs - both in lunatic style)

Cheers Andy for a cracking day. I didn't relise how tail happy my scoob was. I learnt loads about the way it handles. We will have to again.
Who needs tyres? We will have to try and get some good prices from selecta in Buxton.
Mine are shot so I need them quick!!

Totally agree with gav on this one, I had no idea how far you could push the scoob until today, and even then, I've not pushed over the edge, unlike steelx and madscientist!
What a cracking day it was, a MASSIVE THANKS to andy_s for sorting this one out, great little circuit, fantastic weather, from glorious sunshine to overcast, and even a spot of rain just as we were leaving.
I was nervous about going out on the track for the first time ever, but after only a short warm up session, I was flying around as good as the pro's (well, not quite, but not far off
)
I've worn my tyres down a bit, and probably nearer now to buying a new set, but what the hell, if it means I have more confidence in what my car is capable of, then it is well worth it.
Thanks again andy_s, and to all who attended today, great lads, top day.
A moment of silence if you will for missyc and blitzboy1 who sadly couldn't make it today, maybe next time guys and gals, you missed a good 'un
These are the best pictures of the day:
supertouring sets up his stall for the car boot sale, not many takers at first, but as the day goes on, his business is booming!

He was then seen on track, having raised enough money for the petrol required!

Madscientist is a natural with a red flag, just look at that limp wrist action

(Can you spot beefy looking on in envy!)
andy_s, who is familiar with the track, kindly took us on a warmup lap before we started! Here he is without the extra ballast, showing us how it is done..

Beefy does a drive-by of the start line, scooby waving all the way

A break for lunch, and madscientist likes to be by himself for some quiet contemplation, and a quick chat to Damon Hill for advice!

Barnesy meanwhile has other fish to fry, mainly the whole of mcdonalds by the look of it

but this doesn't seem to slow him down any later on track....

As the day drew to a close, I asked scoobygav555 to take a few pictures of my car, with my camera.............

But things improved on one of his last attempts, thanks gav

The video is awesome by the way, and will be posted hopefully tomorrow night, see you all soon.

See? Proof that you took us to a track with crap scattered all over the place. How is anyone supposed to get around the track safely with all that grass and s**t lying around?
I ask ya? [shakes head]
Tut tut.

Steel
ps: I knew stuff was going to happen the moment that sign fell on my head in the cafe ;-)

I'm telling you, that corner is pants!!!
Maybe if I hadn't nailed it the first fast lap I would have got a better time later on...........trundling round it doesn't help!
Fixed my sill with a bit of 2x4 and a large hammer!!!
Tyres are f'ed...............group buy on Toyos!

TYRES: Read barnesy post ref: buxton cheap tyres, then went to Selecta tyre in Bredbury and asked them how much.
For 4 toyo proxes t1-s £100 each fitted and balanced.
For 4 Goodyear Eagle f1 £82.50 fitted and balanced.
Spoke to steelx, and he reckons to go for the goodyears, I am going to take his advice I think. My tyre size is 215/40/17 zr
Scoobygav555 says he might come in on this too, anyone else?
chris.
ps, I am going to keep my toyos for the next track day, and have them put back on.

Got a film up of my run around the track, as a taster of whats to come on the official vid. I'm still editing it, so be patient please.
You'll find it here
it is only a small file at the mo, as the run was only around 1:20, not the fastest, but you get the idea,
chris.

In fact Im getting worried about Barnesy, I dont believe its his g/f making these posts. I reckon its him all along and hes gone a bit like Norman Bates in Psycho "Stop making those posts Mother, etc, etc"!
