S Mancs Curborough day out
I contacted Terry Andrew tonight, the advanced driving instructor.
He was really excited at the prospect of this event, and booked the day off there and then, the joys of being self employed I suppose!
Andy, will he be able to come in his own car?
If he does, will he be able to drive it on the circuit?
If he is not allowed to bring his own, he was quite excited to come down in mine, so no problems there really.
So, we have a circuit for the day, an advanced driving instructor and 10 subaru imprezas in various states of tune! Sounds like it's going to be a cracking day,
is there a pub nearby for dinner?
chris.

Chris he can come in his own car but as the circuit insurance only allows 10 cars he wont be able to drive on the circiut. Dave Patt from curburough was insisant of this sorry. But hopefully this won't dampen his enthusiasm. I will have to enquire about the pub.

Andy does this mean we are covered by Curboroughs insurance or is that purely a Health & Safety thing regarding the number of cars?
Has anyone made any enquiries with regard to insurance yet? If so perhaps we could get a "group buy" discount?

Not sure of the importance of trackday insurance as it is only one car on the circuit at one time. Most claims are down to people hitting others ie one slow driver and one fast driver overtaking normally on corners where your not supposed to. The is loads of runoff at curburough with very little to hit. I span it last time and just ended up on the grass. Plus we will have Terry Andrew to tell us where we are going wrong.
Having said that I will enquire tomorrow if I get a minute with Jim at CRA who does our competition car insurance how much it will be for a group of 10 scoobys for the day.

Right Guys and Gals Track day insurance, is everybody sat down. Approx £110 for the day each and £1000xs. But Jim says when he is back in the office he will enquire properly as he was on his way to Shelsey to race.

The second to last one is Paul and Allans F3 Dalara with an Ex DTM opel 2.5litre V6 engine pulls approx 480bhp normally aspirated. This was their 4th event in the car and got to within 0.5s of the course record. Paul had never been to the circuit before!!!.
It pulled 132mph across the finish line. amazing hen you are stood about 15ft away.
I machined the aluminium cradle to support the engine. So feeling well proud now.
