Simon,

As a non-PLUS person I am probably not qualified to wade in, but just wanted to say I think that you've done a great job, and the concept is wonderful - congrats to the lucky winners too.

A bit of smoke, some mirrors and a whole lot of mystery. Don't let the agressively inquisitive get you down. And please keep up the good work for all of us who silently appreciate what you and the team do.

All the best from Japan.

ROFLMAO@Theo

There are a lot of negative comments which IMHO is a bit out of order - I understand the reasons why I cant say and if folks knew too they'd understand but if I hadnt won I'd be intrigued too - and then probably forget about it and get on with my day

All I've gotta do with my prize now is take the 32mm restrictor off and remap it for the road...oooops nearly gave it away

Glas to see the kiddies have stopped throwing their rattles out of their prams

Congrats Rich and whoever the 2nd anon winner was (you lucky buggers!)

And well done to Simon for having the honour to offer this prize to us members (well plus members anyway)

Like simon said, he could have easily kept the prize(s) for himself or close friends but no, he didnt, he offered it to US guys. Be grateful and grow up! eoplereallypi$$meoffsometimes:

web master do you mind me asking how the winner is chosen
is it a draw or does someone just pick a member who they think
has earned it?

LOL @ Wakeboarder

Like Dingy deserved ever to win anything

(Recent winner of couple hundred quids worth of F1 tickets in an SN+ draw)

Probably the dart & sheet-feed read out of + members method

To be honest, i dont think randomly picked members is fair anyway.

If this was a genuine rally prize then ultimately it should have gone to someone with a genuine rally interest.

I mean, i would be so gutted, if i was into rallying big time, contributed to scoobynet and a newbie, just registered wins with his first post and doesnt really have any interest in rallying but thought he'd put his name forward anyway.

As long as the prize goes to someone deserving i dont care how its decided as long as "overall" its fair.

Boro

This was for big rally fans, which is why we had the thread in general asking people to apply to be included only if they were big rally fans.

It is possible that some people may have entered regardless (shame if they did) but there's not a lot else we could have done to narrow it down.

After that, this particular one was a random database script that picked out the two winners (Actually picked shaun also, but he didn't enter )

Cheers

Simon

not a 'plus' member, but not bothered about the'secrecy' of it all, you can't miss it if you haven't got it. Congrats to the winners.

For what it's worth, I think this is a great site, good feeling and loadsa help, I've appreciated all of the responses to my posts, and think the 'backstage' crew do a great job. I didn't see a problem with this comp.

Just my honest opinions though !!

Lets have a look at what you would have won.

Well done Richard, it went to a true rally nut, which is great!

P.S Great excuse to keep Mel in the dark on anything now. "Sorry love, i cant tell you! It's a scoobynet secret"

if this prize was for plus members only , why was it made know to the whole world? especially if it was more secret than the queens bra size?surley just put their names in a hat draw one out you have won , not intrested , ok pick another name.

i also think the webmasters comments are out of order , you offer this prize on the site then expect people not to be intrested, i can't think of anything that that needs to be that secret and if you expect people not to want to know what it is you are very naive and know little about human nature.
this has made me not want to join scoobynet i will stick to sidc site from now on .

spanner

I have no doubt that people would want to know what it is. I have never said anything to contradict that. What I am surprised at is how negative a select few members have been about it.

regards

Hmm

after posting some earlier comments and getting shot at !! i would like to offer some observations,,, whether you agree or disgagree is down to the reader i would like to reiterate
these are my comments, not a definitive dig at people..

This is a forum, therfore there will be views from all people
both negative and positive,,, i have never stated that i disagreed with either the selection process and the prize.. i congratulate the winners... with there mystery prize..

what i was trying to discuss was the prize was stated as a hush hush cant tell event.. fair enough i can accept this.. the winners were selected... no problems there..

then it gets pear shaped... in reality the two selected winners would have had there prize... webmaster would have announced the two lucky winners and end of story... no one would have probably minded... or any further debate started..

however one of the winners chose to post, what a wonderful prize and how it couldnt be revealed........WHY for what purpose... they were aware that the prize was hush hush,

From what I understand the competition was from the start given some secrecy... All this did was open up the inevitable questions that would be asked...

the second winner has remained annoymous and in reality will probably stay that way and enjoy his prize..

prehaps if a similar situation arises, the winning recipients would be subject to a disclosure agreement!!!

I appologise if anyone takres offence, but the "web" side seems to think that we are having a pop at them, this is not so, i personally think that the webmaster pulled a masterstroke with the prize, and had i been a plus member i would have enjyed taking part

what annoyed me was that some one offered a hint of what was won , and human nature being what it is ,i responded,, only to be
shot at...

prehaps the shots should also be fired else where!!!

enjoy your prizes guys

Mart
