why spend a fortune turning the PC into a good gaming platform when there are dedicated gamers on the market for a lot less?
Gordo

You gotta get into the mind of hardcore gamer. frame rates, benchmarking, overclocking all form part of this mindset. always with the bigger, better, faster. as long as these people exist (and i am on the periphery (sp)) then manufacturers will always have a market for their goods.

I was having a nose around to check prices out and was suprised to find that http://www.theoverclockingstore.co.uk/ has ceased trading

Not a bad price. About same as you would pay for a 128mb model.

so we're basically losing the equivelent to the VAT on these since they're £280+VAT online and the group buy will be £282inc VAT

Sounds like a reasonable deal.

si - I would be interested, but I've seen them on-line for £272
(pcnextday - sapphire 9800pro 128mb inc vat/postage)
£250.00 would be really good...

no, add me for definate once i've seen the price and said "please add me for definate", hehe

dont worry, I apreciate the agony of group buys, i organised a very sucessful knock and lambda link buy but not before answering loads of questions about whether it'll fit my "MY69 moon buggy"
