I always remember the story of the lady or man wo rang the poilce saying he or she had intruders in her shed. The police said they were busy and would be there when they could. 15 mins later no police so she rang again and said dont worry about sending anyone I have shot them. 2 mins later the police turned up ......I thought you said you had shot them they said, I thought you said you were busy she replied......

 

Congrats Dave, you done good to fight them off. Just hope they don't come back before you move.

I would be severely tempted to embarrass the local police severely in the local newspaper. I would certainly request police protection after the threat you received.

OK so I've been reading about this happening in Bristol and Essex and Birmingham but now this is right on the doorstep! Big respect for fighting them off, not sure I would of taken 3 of them on.

This happened to me although they werent trying to nick it just jealous *****...I was in bed and heard someone in the driveway looked out window and this little pr##k was sitting on the spoiler of my EVO 6 while his mates laughed. I went out the back door so they couldnt see me and caught one, lets just say he wont be doing it again in a hurry...

It really is sad that people have no respect for anything nowadays, my house is totally fenced off with a massive gate and they still hassle you. What next cctv? OR Baseball bat?

Must admit, I am buying my first scoob in a few weeks, and I will also be investing in a baseball bat... to be kept in the bedroom... if someone threatens me with a gun, fair play give it up, a knife... they have to go past the first 2 feet of the bat first to get to me!!

I too worry about my family and there is no way I will let anyone into my house uninvited... if I have to answer to the police to clocking someone with a bat - I would say that is "reasonable" force to stop someone stealing your car / murdering / raping your wife etc etc...

I visit notts alot, and mansfield also - will care this in mind when the car is there!

Andy, wherever you are in Kimberley, your gonna be pretty close (we aren't that big yet!).

Here's an update..last night we received a visit from a silver People Mover (vauxhall zafira type thingy). It paused just long enough outside for me to see that it was 4 or 5 up with guys considerably bigger than at least two of the last lot!

We live in a cul de sac.
This was no coincidence.

So we had to make a decision. The 'Team' obviously could not stay around ALL night and i had to think about the missus.

So a call to plod resulted in a visit 20 mins later, where they assured us it was coincidence and nothing to worry about, just as they had said there would be no follow up after the first incident.

We took on board their advice and, after telling them where, and giving contact numbers...duly went to stay with friends..Burn the house - it's insured, Burn the cars - same.
Got home this morning nothing had happened.

So tonight..well who knows..err, watch this space!

Andy...Nope - nothing at all yet, though i must admit that if i were the one paying a visit i'd wait a couple of weeks till the recipient had let their guard down.
In the meantime i've taken the opportunity to increase the defences (ahem !) at the house. If they force their way in and there's too many for me to handle - then god help the first one in!

I must admit I use to like the old bill ( my dad was one ! ) but I really hate them now...they are completely useless. all the want to do now is the easy NICK.....and that's us the motorist.!
This is how **** they are, a few years ago I had an Astra GTE and it was broken into and trashed. on the floor were my sunglasses with a nice big thumb-print on the lens...and it wasn't mine....did they want to know about it when I took them down to the station.....like fu#k.....toss#rs..all of them.

Have to say I like the Police in Derbyshire, been broken into twice in 3 years and first time were there in 10 minutes and arrested the ******* with in 15 mins as they saw them running off down a back road, second time they were so fast they turned up in 3 cars and had the scrouts arressted in the house!
