no point in waving at new shapes, most of them are new to imprezas. Ive never had a wave off of a new shape, classic owners, different story, agree with the 90 % ratio mentioned above.
Also, i cant stand the bug eye shape, the 8 looks better with the high spoiler, but what have they done to the back of the car, if thats progress then im happy with what ive got

Why should being new to impreza ownership mean you dont wave to other owners? Surely there are plenty of people like me who have always wanted an Impreza but couldnt afford one until now and decided to buy the latest model (which is brilliant by the way )? And there must be plenty of now "new age" owners who have traded in their classic for a newer model?
Personally I like all models of the scoob from the classic to the latest MY03 (one of which I now own) and always endeavour to wave to other owners and have a natter whenever possible.

I always flash and wave first otherwise the moment passes - no time to wait and hope they wave first
'Tis true, I get more acknowledgement from pre facelift then MY01 onwards but that will never stop me from grinning and waving like a loon
The acknowledgement of other owners has to be one of the nicest parts of Subaru Impreza ownership Something I missed from when I passed my test in my first car - a Mini
Jon
MY00 Sport - yes Sport! and the turbos do wave back

I always flash/wave another scoob.... I think the ratio isn't as bad as the 10% new age, but I certainly do get more response from "classic" drivers.
You do have to remember though that as the old shape is now only an option for people buying second hand it's much more likely the driver of an old shape will be an enthusiast, whereas a fair few new age cars must be in the hands of people who've got 'em because they just liked the car and probably aren't aware of the waving and stuff. If that makes any sense
*edit* And as to the classic vs new age, they'll always be that rivalry thing I suppose, but each one has it's strengths and weaknesses, and if anyone only concentrates on the negatives without appreciating the positives they can't be real scoob enthusiasts can they?

Im on my second classic now and I love the newer cars, if only I could afford one I would be driving one. I wave at all scooby drivers, whether its a legacy, impreza or forester. (Sorry couldnt strech to a Justy lol) Dont always get a wave back but I keep trying.
