not bitter just sceptical about what you claim
anyone with any common sense about insurance would smell a rat
filled out my details on the direct line website and made myself 21
came back saying unable to quote
used my age details and came back with 900 quid
so you only pay 100 pound more..yeh right
not bitter just incredibly sceptical about your wild claims

At the end of the day it's an awesome car, I know because I saw it yesterday. It really does stand out, and following Dave you notice all the jealous looks the car gets.
Re. the wheels, they look good in the flesh, and are a nice wheel, but 17s or 18s may look a little better - but the colour/style is spot on for the car. Depends whether it's gonna be used for proper driving or posing really. I am sure someone in the know would pay a good wack for those wheels, enabling Dave to get bigger ones if he so chooses, and maybe have a little bit extra to get that rear fog light sorted What a mess :lmao:
Cheers for the exhaust anyway Dave - Shell will now be giving me the VIP loyalty card, as opposed to the standard one I had before - have just been hammering it all day - I just love that exhaust

great thread dave, can't beat a bit of banter
so we've all agreed to disagree about the wheels onto the exhaust, just to throw another make into the ring, how about an Apex'i N1? they have TIG welding (don't know about HKS), the angled exit and they also have a bung if needed
kev

'would any insurance company touch a 21 yr old with 3 points on a 300bhp jap import regardless of your postcode?'
No chance. LMAO 21 year old/3 points and pay a grand insurance on a Jap Import??? Think you live in Cloud cuckoo Land. Maybe daddy's car but not yours Chappy. Please explain Floppy chap as I'm so sceptical too.

'It stand out because it has Rays Engineering wheels on it....but what do you know..?'
LMAO this thread gets better. I've seen better looking standard UK cars than that. e.g.Peccys. Those alloys do nothing for that car. Sry to offend but i always do. What external mods has it got? Not even a front lip spoiler.
I'm more bitter drinking a pint of Tetleys. LOL

'If you ever 'give in' to the urge to get bigger wheels, drop me a mail and I will make you a sensible offer on the wheels!
I think they look fantastic'

Is it a standard UK car then, i thought it is a Type R, meaning that it is not "standard" UK.
Of course there are better looking cars out there, but who else in the UK has (or even knows) those wheels....and not everybody lives in the little "Scoobysport only" world...
And, err, no you didn't offend at all....at least not me.
floppy dave, fancy a set of 17' gold S'leggeras against your wheels? :-))

Top car! glad that you are happy with the wheels, I think they look good.
As for the other 2 who have nothing better to do than have a go at other peoples cars, you really do need to get out more.
I was under the impression that this forum was for like minded people to share experiences and expertise about one of the best cars that money can buy.
Floppy Dave had the ***** to put up pics of his car and ask for advice from people in the know, give him a break!!

I am fairly new on this site, and as a Scooby owner I was looking forward to discussions with fellow owners. However the tone of some of the contributions to this thread is not pleasant.
Can we please get back to sharing the thrill and pride of ownership in our cars and stop the bickering?
I vote that this thread be closed.

perhaps you own the car but you dont have insurance?
from the trouble i had getting insured on my version 5 i know for a fact that at 21 (with 3 points and not even a full no cliams bonus which i have) they would either deny you a policy or charge you a ridiculous amount
just dont like being taken for a fool
