Thanks for all the comments guys, I knew some wouldnt be too keen

It would be criminal to paint carbon fibre IMHO, so she stays au natural

ROBO, siwrx is right, the vents are designed to draw air through the FMIC/rad.... if you think about it, the std vents on a scooby have no purpose, they are blanked off from the factory!

Michael, I came across the bonnet at an engine builder by chance after being pointed there by a mate, he had it turn up on a car he imported. A far as I know there are no others in the UK, so none for sale

siwrx, no idea who made it and when

TrippleX, I had considered that but I think the air would be swept over the scoop.... dunno....

Cheers guys, keep the comments coming

i think thats a wicked design m8, reminds me of the bonnet i ordered for my rx7 before i sold it. Actually does something worthwhile unlike the standard vents which allow a little heat out if you open them

Very nice indeed - but it does need painting. I'm with the idea of reducing the car's weight, and I like the look of carbon but in this context, the car should be all carbon ( ) or all painted.

Thanks lads!!!

SiPi lol I remember that!!!!

I will look into getting a carbon scoop to match it, just worried that carbon from another source will not match the bonnet, only one way to findout i spose!

Keep em coming!

POC - who is doing the carbon on the scoop mate? Rob or Evo composites or someone new??

Finding a carbon bonnet on the scoob is bloody hard! Evo composites do it but they are back logged with work so much that you wont get it till about 6 months!!

Finding one in America is bloody hard to!!

On to one company so will let you know how that goes.

Knowing POC, he will change it soon for something else! lol

Talking

DOes it make the car go faster ?
Presumably Steve, the answer must be yes (though only slightly) as it's usually a huge weight saving swapping from a steel to carbon bonnet

The bonnet is an Apexi item, or its a direct mould of the Apexi one.
There is a silver STi at RC developments with the very same bonnet, but its painted silver to match..not sure if its carbon, but its 100% the same bonnet. Mega ££££.
looks pure street racer, very trick.

all the best
