Well I left the car outside my house last night and had no problems at all so hopefully thats my first and last bad thing I'll have with owning the scoob.

For those of you with no garage what about one of those security post things that sits in front of you car?

I don't know how easy they are to get around but I had a Clifford Concept 500 on my last car. You have to enter a code each time a door is opened. It is a great anti-hijack feature but also if someone nicks your wagon even with the keys by breaking into your house, they only get about 200 meters up the road then everything cuts out, alarm goes off and you get your car back. Also great for bugging your mates. "Here you go, take it for a spin." Knowing they wont even make it to the end of the road. hohohoho.

Wouldnt be without decent immobiliser or tracking device. Garage I don't bother with it. Someone see it, tells someone else, they tell someone else, etc. If they want it they'll have a go no matter where it is and my insurance was no cheaper if I said it was in the garage so I thought it wasn't worth it at all.

Guys - trackers any good? I've RAC trackstar as standard in my STI8 but if someone lifts the keys and drives off what use is it? Can they still track it if I phone them - maybe I should already know this....

With you on the whole law issue - skewed completely against hard working Joe Public...think I'll turn to theft and jack in the day job...loads of nice gear and I can sleep all day I mean the cops aren't going to wake me are they....

Unhappy

owning a desirable car like a scoob will always attract the attention of those who either cant be bothered to work hard enough to buy one or are just plain jealous of your pride and joy!
but more seriously -- P1 £20k+ or something close-- have you got 20grands worth of c**p in your garage.... you know what to do!!
hope it was a one off and dog scared them away... ba****ds.

Make sure the house is as secure as the car. I started with the car because I thought the house was "ok".

They broke in a kitchen window at 2AM and routed through all the draws downstairs looking for the keys. As if.

Then I secured the house properly - window locks, deadlocked doors and exterior illumination (on their own) are no protection! I stopped resenting the "lockdown routine" eventually...

Fao: creepy.
Do you have one of these camera things that hooks up to your pc??? And are they easy to install? I just spent a fortune on mi car, so it seems a good investment to try and protect it
