Shoot the fecking things with a shotgun - much more effective.

p.s. this thread is for research purposes only and was filmed on a closed street, by professional stuntmen.

Whilst I don't condone it, I can't think of anything funnier to do on the way back from the pub, sort of like modern day scrumping A few mates, leave the pub, fairly loud even though you think you're dead quiet, find offending article, swing on it a while and make no difference at all How funny watching ya mates swinging on the pole, effin and blinding Running for the nearest hedge everytime someone says "CAR!!!" there's six of you but only one will fit behind it. It's soooo obvious that there's a bunch of drunk lads behind that hedge
As the weeks progress, you get more cunning until one night it's done and you all stand round and argue about who is gonna take the camera home/dispose of it
I'm off to the pub with me mates hahahahahah Can't wait to be 10 again

Nat

I saw this on the front of the Chron - Hehe!

Two cameras on the A605 – one of the 10 most dangerous roads in the county – had their lenses covered with a paint substance.

Ah yes the 605 that hell-hole of a road, one of the most dangerous roads in the county - My ar$e - just a good spot to stealth tax, ever seen one near a school or park in Northants, i have not!

Angry

A while ago coming from Wales I was stuck behind an old Land Rover towing a trailer for 10+ miles doing less than 40 on winding roads unable to pass because of the road. After the 10 or so miles the road opened up, no oncoming traffic so indicate, pull out and overtake. Problem was that when level with the trailer spotted a GATSO to my left hidden behind a sign so had to sharply apply brakes and wait until out of range before continuing manouvre, meanwhile car on horizon bearing down on me is getting very close. Insane.

The camera had obviously been placed at a spot where traffic would safely be able to pass slow traffic after being stuck for ages. Straight road with no houses or junctions. I wish there were more cameras outside schools etc and on lights (eg the M4 / A34 roundabout) but that's far too sensible.

:-(

Recordprod.....

There's one just like that on the A303 IIRC, you're forced to follow slower sightseeing, caravan towing numpties because of solid centre lines etc... then the road gets a hundred yards of uphill dual cabbageway with a gatso at the top!
Very sensible.

Who actually plans camera placement? Are they the same people that put in speed bumps and 'traffic calming'? Thing about the bumps are that while I slow down (lowered suspension!) blokes in Cortinas and the women in Land Cruisers fly over them at warp speeds.

Ho hum :-)
