RX7's can last 100k thou (potentially)& rebuild with improved tips etc can improve longevity & can cost between 1-4k as i understand it & around 60-70 is norm but u can pick the cars up quite cheap if u look on autotrader etc now

Just done it - VX220 Turbo - quicker than my old MY02 STi PPP in a straight line, and also round bends, much more fun to drive, and no negative Impreza image either.......
Cue sneering, "but it's a Vauxhall" badge snobbery comments (like the Impreza has a *good* image)
Well, actually, of course underneath it's a Lotus, and acknowledged by many to be the car Lotus should have built......

Think i would hang on to my cash, And wait for the the "****IS COSWORTH".
Its been along time comming, I know and you know it will probs be the best all round 4x4 on the planet.
However, I would never consider an rs ****is as i think its a it of a half way house, Just to keep the ford'ies interested.

Sold my 317bhp 1999 V5 Type R and replaced it with a 2000 mk4 Golf turbo & a Westfield. The Golfs had 19's,suspension,re-map,exhaust,etc. It made 220bhp on the rollers.
The westy was 90% complete,2001 & only had 254 miles on it, its now finished, Zetec 2.0L 16v on carbs, 165bhp, 17" rims, etc.
I miss my scoob loads, the best car ever!!! Tempted to get another.
Westy great fun when its dry, Golf good for my stereo but slow and doest go round corners and doesnt pull off my S1OWW plate quite as well as the scoob did.

Going against the thread, it'll probably be a Vauxhall Nova or something equally as cheap - unless I find a job v.soon, or decide I can afford the 3.9% on my £1250 insurance premium on my credit card until I do.
Gotta love the Scooby though. Ok, so I came up a big jump from my pre-Scooby Corsa 1.4 (my first self-owned car), but 5*it it moves and handles, and you know you love that exhaust burble. Be prepared to sell me your MY00 once I do get a decent job again cos that's what I've got/want again. Only next time I'll mod it how I want it (as my existing one is, plus a few minor things).
Seriously, I'd prefer a Scooby to any Ferrari I've ever driven as a day-to-day car (that'd be against the 308 then).

Discussing this at work the other day. Narrowed it down to three:
Boxster S
STi8 with PPP
TVR Tuscan S
Eventually plumped for the TVR, although it's a looooooonnnnnngggg way off. Until then I'll stick with the Terzo

If I could ever be persuaded to part with my Scoob (UK MY98) it will be for an GT-R 33, would be a 34, but I'm being realistic!
...saying that, it'll have to be good to persuade me away from the Scooby's - I did like the look of the Sti8 RA Spec C ...Mmmm

and as soon as good ones are 25K I will have one. I'll keep the Impreza though.

My 350Z arrives on 1st October which has to be more of a bargain than a Scooby in my opinion and certainly won't lose value for a year or two with only 400 initially being delivered in October.
I've had 2 years of the most enjoyable driving in my MY99 UK Turbo and to be honest can't imagine life without it but then keep going back and reading reviews on the Z and thinking i might just cope!
I'm sure i'll be back to a Scooby one day or the Focus Cosworth in 05 might tempt me to be unfaithful once more.
By the way will be looking to sell my immaculate, FSSH, ESR, a/c, Gearbox locking bolt, 50k, in July/Aug time for around £10k. It will have just been serviced and MOT'd and will have one years Suburu warranty remaining so you can buy with confidence. It's been supplied and serviced by the same main dealer from new and they will happily provide you will a full print out of it's history. Christ i think i've just talked myself into keeping it!
Any one who thinks they might be interested just leave your email and i'll get in touch at the time.
