My Father died today

Sincere condolences to you & your family..
I know how you are feeling, as I lost my mother a few years back..!! not nice.. you never forget, and the memories of my dear old mum are wonderful.... still miss her..!
As SeanT stated, time moves on and it does get easier to live with, but you will not forget....
Take care, and remember the magic times that you experienced with your father..

Thanks everyone
We (the family) are having a quiet sunday lunch today and then tomorrow its going to be a bit hectic with all the paper work etc.
My father sorted pretty much everything out before the cancer really took hold so there is really just the funeral to sort out for next week.
Thanks again for your support

Very sad news Condolences to all of your family. My dad died many years ago now after battling with stomach cancer, which suddenly spread.
I thank him for passing on his enthusiasm for motors to a daughter, which was seen as a bit odd 25++ years ago!
Take care
Chrissie

Sorry to learn of this and hope next week goes quickly without too much pain for you and your family. I did want to post just to say that the old cliche about time really is true. My wife lost her sister to the big C many years ago - and on Cup Final day. Nowadays when that Saturday comes around we remember her and even joke about who she would have wanted to win! I expect you will do the same or similar in years to come and I'm sure your Dad would like it that way. D

I feel for you, mate. I well remember - though its 32 years ago - when my own father died of cancer. He'd only been diagnosed six weeks earlier, and it all happened very quickly, but he had a hard time in the last few days. I was with him just a few hours before he died, and I'll always be grateful for that.
My youngest brother reacted to Dad's death in a most unfortunate way. He took all Dad's personal papers down the garden and made a bonfire of them. Now I'm researching the family tree, and I realise more every day just what damage was done in that act.

Tony,
Sorry to hear your news. Nobody can say anything that will really help. I lost my Dad nearly 9 years ago, and I still miss him. A small consolation is that the pain will very gradually ease.
Try to stay positive and remember the good times.
Take care.

I too lost my dad to cancer (when I was 18), an unpleasant disease to say the least , your dad is in a better place now and free from suffering.
Sincere condolences.
