I'm interested in knowing how to do this on my P1. Anything to reduce charge temps.
I've seen the Aussie website which shows spacers under the i/c mounts but it confuses the hell out of me as the mounts on my i/c are more towards the front rather than the rear. Surely they'll raise the front too.
Could I have the howto instruction too please David?
Thanks,
Vindaloo.

Ok, i am (finally) looking to make an attempt at this but have come slightly unstuck. Would anyone be able to supply details of the dimensions of the spacers, specifically height, or is it very much a trial and error process?
Thanks in advance.

Trial and error's much more fun
I ended up with a 22mm spacer on the non-turbo side of the car, and a smaller one (12mm IIRC) on the turbo side to level things up. Also modified the brackets that bolt onto the side of the I/C to get a better mating angle.
This is enough to get the scoop shield rubber almost (but not quite) touching the fins of the I/C at the back. Could have gone further but didn't want to defeat the object by allowing the rubber to crush those pesky fins. At some point I'll cut the rubber down a bit, allowing a little more tilt...

After making Andrew's set of spacers I made a smaller set to try on my own car, on my intercooler I had a shield fitted and before the spacers went on the rubber gasket that "sealed" on to the intercooler just about made a polished mark on the shield, with the spacers fitted the gasket has made a mark across the whole shield, with this I've come to the conclusion that the spacers just create a better seal forcing the air through the intercooler, whereas before it could escape around the seal.

Feels better, although that could be placebo effect. I also added a deflector into the scoop shroud at the same time, so might be the two working together.
Either way, I'll hopefully be putting an intake charge temp sender in at the weekend, if some other bits and pieces get finished quick enough, so should be able to get some direct tilt/flat comparison info soonish...
