Roger - Please send me a copy of the paperwork when it arrives, I would be very interested to see it.

Simon - No we don't unless there are 'exceptional' circumstances.

Integrale - YHM.

Steve - Scorpion products are not warranty approved by Subaru UK.

Blue - Pricing is the responsibility of the importer and not of Prodrive (EU Law ref price fixing etc).

Thanks, Nick.

Nick

Sorry but can you confirm who makes the Prodrive Exhaust for you then ? I'm sure its Scorpion ?? Surely Prodrive don't manufacture them in house themselves ?

Nick - Thanks, thought it would be down to Subaru Benelux

Integrale - will let you know when I find out, hopefully on Wednesday! As I said, was originally quoted 2,995 Eur, but now they won't confirm that price, so maybe it's changed?

Schweeet !! just got a call from Hank Weevers (great name) from Subaru in Holland (Aalsmeer Dealer), he confirmed that they will be getting the PPP kits in the next 2-4 weeks and they're 1900 Euros (plus 150 Euros fitting). Thats about £1500 on todays sh#t euro/sterling rate, which is still cheap as chips !! Definately gonna get it done. He's also sending me an options/price list for other WRX accessories as they will also be cheaper than UK dealer prices. Can't beieve at last i'm gonna get this sorted out.

actually just checked the rate again and it works out exactly £1430.......a good £170 cheaper which will pay for the boat there and back, cheap hotel and a few beers, excellent, i may even decide to get the car serviced there every 6 months just for the cheap holiday.

Question

Just had an email from Emporer Imports, latest prices for MY03 WRX are £16395 (1:1.57 exchange rate) to £17780 (1:1.44).
This includes free UK delivery, Cat 1 (Sigma M30) alarm, full tank, mats and metallic paint.
Options list includes :- PPP £1500, Leather £1395, Colour Coded Side Skirts £145, RAC Trackstar £625.

Given the concerns over PPP, has anyone else bought from them and specified PPP? Also, with such good prices are their cars full UK spec and not some dodgy Cyprus import?

If they check out as OK I'll be ordering soon.

Have you checked the exchange rate? It's got better recently, but it's still only 1.42. A couple of days ago it was 1.39. And that's the mid-market rate - you'll be offered something rather worse than that.

Check http://www.xe.net/ucc/ for current rates.

My own feeling is that if you can get a grand knocked of the price of a UK car (which someone claims to have done), you're better off paying 19K for a UK car rather than 18K for an import.

It's a difficult subject but I took the attitude that although it's possible to get a Benelux dealer to fit and warranty a PPP, they will not give the same approval for any of the Prodrive suspension or brake modifications. Their reasoning being that they are not available in the Benelux.

That being the case, I decided that as I wanted more power I also wanted better brakes/suspension and if this wasn't warrantied then the whole issue became a moot point. So far, I've had the suspension/quickshift/ecutek/back box changed and I'm relying on the Scoob's reliability to get me through.

Only time will tell.

The PPP price for a MY03 WRX is £1500 according to my importer (Emperor). Are you referring to the STi PPP price?
