No problem with me, just keep it to the car park, as the pit lane gets busy enough as it is

i need to confirm how many cars you have got signed up , to fund all 3 events, you need about 65-70 min cars signed on .
will be speaking to peccy friday all being well. without enough confirmed cars for 3 events the cost cant come down i'm afraid as it is expensive to set up and time all 3 disciplines, rather than just 1/4m head to head /top speed.
will need also to chat about a deposit from people as we cant afford to risk non attendance if weather isnt good . elvington events can be run in piddlng down rain so no probs with that but it cant work if say just 30 cars turn up on the day.

peccy- can you gis a bell friday evening with names/numbers mate ?
cheers
chris

don't think i want to spend £70 on a santa pod 1/4 mile strip sort of thing.. thats what it was going to be before! i'm not bothered about handling course anyway!

£35 would have been plenty + petrol etc.

£70 + petrol... 100 notes gone! .. oits like doubled since first mentioned!

Has anyone noticed that it is the same weekend as the British Rally Championship come to Yorkshire?

I'll be in Dalby - I hope.

Shame though!

it hasnt doubled in cost! its either £30 per car approx still for a straight 1/4m head to head drag and top speed event, assuming enough cars, or around £60-70 for above plus the timed handling course, dependant upon enough confirmed cars for this option.

all i have said is we need plenty of confirmed cars to make the cost come down for running you all 3 timed events (more than 60 cars will need to pay up). its much dearer to set up and time 3 full events than one runway drag racing.

people need to contact peccy asap with their choice as we will be asking for deposits from next week. if it looks like only 20-30 people will turn up on the day to pay the 3 timed events wont happen, sorry but no one is going to lose money to set you up a scooby only day.
if people are only looking for a cheap day (ie £30 per car option) then unfortunately all we can do is run you the 1/4m and top speed stuff, its as simple as that.
most simple trackdays at elvington (without any timing)
are £85-£100, per car, with trackday operators.

for the scooby only day there wont be much queuing, and you will get as many runs as you like, all day, and regardless of the weather. (whether its a 2 or 3 timed event day!)

those of you on the list of entrants, plus anyone else up for it please get in touch with peccy asap by email etc with your preference and confirmation

Exclamation

below is a copy of the email sent out today to all listed competitors so far...

*** Scooby Shootout Preference ***

Hi, Scooby Shootout Competitor

Please specify your preference for the format of the Scooby Shooutout, the options are:

[1] quarter mile and top speed only (£30)

OR

[2] quarter mile, top speed and handling course (£60 - £70)
Option [2] is dependant upon at least 60 cars confirming and paying up. If say only 40 cars are confirmed with this option, then it will therefore cost more per car, and could be around £80 90 per car (tbc). Timing and marshalling all 3 events obviously costs a fair bit more than just running a head to head 1/4m + top speed event on one runway.

If enough people confirm ASAP we will sort you the preferred option. If response isnt sufficient then the day will only be 1/4m and top speed on a RWYB basis.

Costs can only be set when we have confirmation of numbers and preference. The event cannot be run at a loss to the operators as you will appreciate, so prompt replies will confirm your event.

We will be in touch shortly asking for a deposit of £25.

Thankyou.

...if you are competing and havent received the above email then please email shootout@yorkshirescoobys.co.uk with your preference.

thanks, http://www.scoobyshootout.co.uk

Hi Peccy

I did'nt recieve an e-mail so i will reply here. To be honest i would only be doing the 1/4 mile and top speed runs because i have done a lot of work to my car and want to judge what it can do. The handling course is just a bit of fun really as its not a real good circuit, so i would'nt miss it! if i want corners i would go to a proper track day

I have also not received an email, but confirm that I am happy to pay for both the timed circuit, and quarter mile times.

If anyone manages to host an event that would lead to a capacity issue at Elvington, I'd be impressed

BTW: Can I run my gixer? Got 172 top end last time

dont know as yet from peccy how many have replied, but its not looking like a lot of you confirmed for a 3 event day. also if numbers are low for either, how about we make it 200 plus vs scoobs?
i can bring 10-20 cars (all v quick) to fill the gaps. not bothered if the mag want to ignore those and keep it scooby only for theuir write up.

dont really want to have to open it to anyone else but 30-50 paid up cars isnt going to cover all your costs , even for a drag and top speed only day at 30 quid each.
