Trouble is when you start to get silly with power, no matter what the car it always finds the weak link
I got told off for saying that on another thread . I can find the link if you want .

They are both great cars but Crypt hit the nail on the head when he said that CCC had no compromised models and it was extreme or more extreme.

Both good cars in their own way just depends what you want and if you want to mod already quick cars.

I have been absolutely obsessed with EVO's since the EVO V and always dreamt of owning one. Now all of a sudden I find myself with enough cash and I've gone and ordered an STi 8! I had to weigh up the practicality (if you can apply that word to either!) of both cars and at the end of the day I think the Scoob is the better all round (and now better looking) car and is hardly a compromise.

I still get a shiver when I see an EVO though, accompanied by a niggling doubt as to whether I've done the right thing or not!

PMSL, I wondered when you'd show up.

Infact this is what I was getting at in your post MrP...

Everyone now thinks that EVOs have 700bhp

Of course you have, you took the softer option. TBH I dont think the STI will be shy, what makes it more practical than say an Evo7 or 8?

Just intrested on your view of it.

Ah, the 'niggling doubt'...

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but this phenomenon only seems to work one way - from scooby owners wondering if they should have got an evo. I am not in any way saying that every scooby owner feels that way, just that it doesn't seem to afflict Evo owners.

I knew I couldn't live with that niggling doubt, not when spending what was (to me) a large sum of money, so I went for an Evo6 instead of a P1 last year. I can honestly say I have absolutely no doubt that I made the right choice for me - the P1 is a brilliant car and just as quick as my (standard) Evo, but it just doesn't have the same emotional (?) hold over me that the Evo does.

Crypt is right though - mutual respect is what it should be about with these cars.

Must admit when I saw Crypt car in the flesh I thought it was superb, and I told him that. The colour makes the car and very rare. Very difficult decision not to go for the E7. Never say never though .

My view is that the service intervals are twice as long on the scoob and that the overall running costs are less (so I'm told?). Also there is the fact that you get the tracker as standard and I can initially buy the car for £2000 less (obviously PPP will eventually cancel this out). Having looked at both cars I think the interior of the scoob is better (both in quality of materials and build quality) and you also get a stereo as standard. Finally, I do some long journeys and the bigger range of the scoob (fuel wise) and the more comfortable seats clinched it for me. OK OK so I forgot to say that the wife prefers the look of the Scoob but that really didn't matter!!!

My sercice intervals are the same os the scoob aprt from the AYC fluid change which I van do myself.
