the cossie's and i were racing on a motorway {that we both privately own} and this happened miles after we had raced. I would have made the bend no worries as i have many at time but due to a transferbox failure this is was not meant to be.

Bit i have learned my mistakes and bought a car that does not have this problem like vauxhall lol.

Guy's your right its only metal, and thanks for all your reply's

Damian

P.S Subaru is still for sell

120MPH......on a bend.....with no seatbelt on!!!!! Jesus man you are in need of help, or perhaps a brain transplant. People like you shouldn't be allowed fast cars, I expect you also one of those people who does 60 or 70+ in 30 zones. I'm glad you got out of that alive, you should learn by that mistake, If you don't you'll wind up killing a child.

On a motorway????? How many roundabouts do you see on motorways????

I'm not a paragon of virtue, I speed like everyone else. But 120MPH!!!!! cmon fella, that was just plain stupid wasn't it? Being a father, perhaps it's time to take a more responsible attitude to your driving and general life, if you had died your son would have been without a father.

People like you really wind me up, you increase insurance premiums for everyone else, and you risk lives of totally inocent people.

Take more care, get a life as well.

Wink

I speed like everyone else. But 120MPH!!!!!
Indeed..... Doesn't 120mph feels ridiculously slow when braking from higher speeds.....

Damo.... Your post was well constructed and you have admitted your stupidity about the seatbelt bit so just ignore the self-righteous among us

Yeah....

To me the post served as more of a warning (and a good one) to others, rather than the "hey look how cool I was..."

Think we can all look back on a few incidents and think "how the hell did I get away with that one" but it's heartening to know that when you get a bit longer in the tooth these incidents are few and far between ..... allegedly

It's the speeding in 30s and past primary schools that gets my back up

Rant over

Think you'll find that the fact it happened in November 2002 would make it a bit hard for them to prosecute now and then who is to say that Damo didn't crash it whilst reversing into his drive and just made up this story to look hard in front of his mates

Damo, Sipie, how very dim you both are, it's a shame brain transplants are not yet available as you two are both desperately in need. Why not offer yourselves for scientific reasearch into these transplants......hey if it all goes wrong your braindead anyway so it would be no great loss.

Please read below:

Introduction

ScoobyNet is a huge online motoring enthusiasts community, that is run by enthusiasts. The ScoobyNet Forums are for the online interaction of that community. Due to its size and widespread appeal, everything we post is seen by thousands of people around the world, which means we have a duty of care that the content of the forums are legal and of a good and decent nature.

Whilst (incredibly for a community of its size) ScoobyNet is proud of the fact that occasions when this is not adhered to are very very rare, it does happen, so we have one of the finest teams of moderators you will find anywhere in the world.

What are Moderators?

Our Moderator Team is here to monitor and (where necessary) edit / move / delete posts in order to protect the short and long term good of the ScoobyNet community. They are active members of the community, but also give up huge amounts of their own time (free of charge) to support you. They follow a strict set of guidelines which have been developed and refined over the years, placing the good of the community as the primary focus.

If your post is moved, edited, locked, deleted, etc... this will NEVER be a direct or personal attack on you. It will only be as a result of the guidelines that you can see below and will always put the community first, over any individual's personal ideals.

When will my thread be edited/deleted?

o Pornography, links to Pornography or links to other inappropriate sites.
o Swearing : Whilst the censored versions of swearing (eg s**t, etc) are usually considered OK, offensive / overuse of this may offend and may be moderated. In addition to this, any deliberate circumvention of the swear word filters is prohibited. Common sense prevails. Eg, the use of images which have swear words in them are not acceptable.
o Incitement to a flame war within this or any other forum
o Any sort of pyramid selling or referral schemes
o The advertising and sale of illegal bootleg material (such as copied DVDs, VCDs and computer software)
o Xenophobia, racism or personal abuse
o Spam or any other form of unauthorised advertising.
o Anything invasive of a person's privacy.
o Anything that is deemed by Scoobynet as potentially libelous.
o Flagrant disregard for the interests of the community(anti community spirit)
o Sensitive content that cannot be moved, locked edited.
o No part of the topic/message is salvageable by editing Illegal/defamatory statements
o Remove any copyright-infringing material (either text or graphic)
o Basically, whenever there is no value to the community that demands leaving the topic/message in place.

Editing is always visible to the community; whenever a message is edited, the date/time/edit author are shown within the message

Scoobynet reserves the right to remove, or edit any thread for legal or other reasons.

When will a thread be locked?
o If there are persistent abuses of the behavior mentioned above.
o Unacceptable behavior (as determined by the tone of the community; e.g. making inflammatory comments, flame wars etc etc)
o Completely off-topic discussion
o No part of the topic/message is salvageable by editing

St Andy

I have highlighted in bold the relevant points from the above Scoobynet General Forum Guidlines that I feel you are clearly breaking.

It's a good natured board and personally I haven't offended you in the slightest.
You will notice these things you detest called 'smillies' which indicate when people are being humorous (ie. my point re slowing down to 120mph) or sarcastic etc and from reading the above thread I can see no for reason for you to come on to this board insulting myself.

Thanks for taking the time to digest this.

Si

This is all so familure

We've all (well most of us) lost it at some point I don't believe that St Andy's attitude is helpful. In fact, I found people like him would wind me up so much on SN during the day that I'd drive home like an angered loon afterwards. I know for a fact that having it go pear shaped at speed is far more of a sobering thought than any of your harsh words st andy so I'd say its best you keep those thoughts to yourself

Also, there is little relationship between people that are happy to do silly speeds on the motorway and driving fast in 30s. I've seen my scooby off the clock but I sure as hell don't fire past schools at over 30mph

I'm still trying to figure out how a box full of clutches could physically "lock up"??

You sure it wasn't a weak suspension arm?

I don't think threats of violence help. Driving at high speed without seat belts is not the most sensible thing to do, as became obvious. Pious harping about it wasn't helpful, just count to ten and think what a forkwit he/she is for pointing out the blindingly obvious
