BTW, if anyone's interested, there's a DH competition at Innerleithen on Sunday. Apparently Steve Peat (World Champ) will be competing, as will Emma Guy from The Hub. I won't be able to go and watch 'cos I'm working, but if anyone goes, make sure you drop by the Hub and say Hi!

It's getting darker again - time for night riding again! Seems a bit strange at the moment tho' riding in darknes but still in a summer shirt and with dust clouds...

Night riding's just getting going at the Hub. Luckily, I should be able to borrow lights for free there (now my bike is finally fixed). The full night-riding program kicks off in October when the clocks change though.

Went night-riding on Thursday evening. Top quality - bags of fun and superb trails in the dark too. Really enjoyed it, and can't wait to get out there again (hopefully next week).

Nope, the lights are mounted on the bars. We use various lights between us - they have a 10-15w 'dipped' light with a wide beam for most of the riding, and a 25-35w 'high beam' which we flick on for the descents.

Anybody read the latest copy of MBUK yet? The article on Chicksands is the woods that my club (Beds Fat Trax) have done all the trail marking and course building at. XC course and a Dual Slalom. MBUK seemed pretty impressed and Rob Warner seemed pretty laid back and not the hooligan I was expecting based on what I had read about him.
Interested to hear if anyone here has ridden it?

I've ridden the woods a few times for fun, but not the tracks. Will check it out again soon. Was at Aston Hill this Sunday for the downhill comp, spectating only, great day out.

OK guys, a little advice if you could please.
I picked up my new off-road toy today
and am well pleased
My question is this:
Would OR be the better derailleur ?
now I can give my road bike a well deserved rest
Cheers

Following a fairly small off on Sunday, my rear mech is playing up and the upper jockey wheel is touching the largets sprocket of the rear cassette. Any ideas what is wrong? tried all the usual adjustments etc.

I made an 85Mb helmet-cam video which in April which you can download from here.
Be patient. It'll be uploaded in about 20 minutes.
And excuse the cheesy music - I was having fun with the video-editing suite.
